Math Wizards
Funded Mar 6, 2018The students were so excited to explore with their new calculators, where no one has to share! This new technology helps students to increase their fluency, practice facts and check their work. Many times students rush to finish their work, these calculators have encouraged student to take their time and try their best so they can "beat the calculator."
Students have come up with their own games for fact fluency practice and enjoy some competitive practice with their classmates. Previously students would have to share calculators with other students and wouldn't be able to complete these types of games and task on their own.”

Build Up Our Class
Funded Dec 28, 2013Everyone in the fourth and fifth grade at my school would like to express their gratitude for the printer and inked that you help provide for our "corner." The students love being able to print out all of the work they save on the computer, and they are taking more opportunities to practice their typing skills, so that they can begin to type everything out.
We are extremely grateful for people like you who are willing to support a great school and amazing kids who don't ask for much. Many of my students are now in the process of writing their own chapter books. They look that they can type all of their work and be able to print it out when they are done. The printer has motivated them in more ways then I could have predicted it would.
Thank you again, for your generosity, support and enthusiasm. This printer provided the students in our "corner" with a motivation to learn more about technology.”

Funded Nov 18, 2013My students and I would like to thank you again for your generous donations to our donors choose project - Core Curriculum Needs. They love having workbooks for math. I never imagined students would get excited over workbooks! As soon as I unpacked them they wanted to look at them even though it took us a week to start using them (we waited for a new unit).
Everyday the students take home their workbooks, even when they do not need them. They enjoy having something that belongs to them that they can keep. I enjoy that I do not have loose papers all over the floors and desk!
Thank you so much.”

Funded Jun 4, 2013Thank you so much for your donations. My students were excited to see all of the new materials and supplies that they could use to use during their projects. Every activity they ask if they can color it in or decorate it with paper. These recourse's have been useful for bulletin boards, decorations, projects and classroom learning charts. The material has made it possible for the students to do more fun activities with their hands on learning. Many of my students do not come to school with crayons, colored pencils or makers, so having all of these at their disposable was very exciting.
All material is shared between four, fifth grade classrooms. They have learned to share materials and to be responsible for all the supplies so that they can last us all year long and so we can share them with other students.”

Spectacular Supplies
Funded Sep 6, 2013Thank you all again for the donations to the supplies needed to begin an excellent school year with fun learning projects. My students are enjoying using the pencil sharpener, every week someone new gets to be the "Sharpener Manager" they love making sure all pencils are sharpened and ready for learning and homework at the beginning and end of the day. I love having a new fun job for them! They enjoy using the art material to complete projects. These new materials have made the students more mindful of sharing materials and respecting our supplies in the classroom.
Thank you all again for your support, I know everyone in the 5th grade enjoys sharing these materials!”

Funded Dec 22, 2012I wanted to again thank you again for your generous donations to my students. The students are enjoying all of the hands-on learning they are now participating in. Many of the folder games have helped students gain an interest in building the skills they struggle with. I have witnessed all of the fifth grade students in my school using these games and enjoying their time learning and building on math skills.
I am grateful to have materials where I can repeatedly witness my students enjoying themselves, and I know they will continue to enjoy these throughout the remainder of the school year.”

Rigorous Reading for 5th Grade
Funded Sep 5, 2012Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for your generosity!! Our class has officially began reading No Talking by Andrew Clements after the beginning of the year organization has settled down.
My students were very excited to begin reading these books. They enjoyed Frindle last year and are excited to see more of the authors work. This year is even better because they each get their own book to read aloud as a whole class, with partners and/or in small groups. I am excited to begin class projects on No Talking.
Like most schools our school does not have the funds to purchase chapter books for each student. Basal readers can be repetitive and boring, especially if there is no background knowledge or interest. My students are motivated to read because authentic books, by an author they know. I am hoping to get more Andrew Clements books to help foster their love of his stories.”
