This fall I will be entering my 27th year teaching and I still get as excited as I did year one. I am very passionate about education because I, too, consider myself a lifelong learner. I am constantly reflecting upon my craft to help my students become more engaged and take ownership of their work. We are in an era where as educators, we must plan our lessons to meet students where they are through technology, social media, digital learning, and collaboration. It takes time for us older teachers to learn to let go of how we were taught and trained in order to serve our students best; therefore we must be very intentional in how we plan and deliver instruction.
