• Rewarding Hard Work with Pizzas

  We are entering three teams this year and they are all incredibly well-prepared for the competition. Thanks to your generosity, I was able to place our lunch order today for tomorrow's competition and pay with the gift cards. Then, tomorrow, my husband will be able to deliver them to the courthouse tomorrow during our break. We are hopeful that we will have at least one team moving on to the finals after the lunch break - and I love that my teams will not need to leave for lunch and can all stay together and debrief! Thanks again for making feeding my 30 teams members during their competition!”

• Look Professional to Perform Like a Professional

  Thank you! These portfolios are a huge hit - and my students were so excited when the boxes arrived. The portfolios are now filled with affidavits, exhibits, rules of evidence, case materials, and the mock trial handbooks. The portfolios give my teams a professional look and an air of confidence - and they are so well-prepared for our upcoming competition this weekend! • Future Attorneys Making Objections

  This book is a life safer! My students check out copies - and use it as the primary resource as they pre pare for the regional mock trial competition. Interestingly, we have a small group of 8th graders who are interested in competing next year, and they have started coming in at lunch to watch the teams practice. After watching them, several of the 8th graders have also checked out books so they can understand what the attorneys are talking about! I know that with the knowledge they have gained from this resource, my students will perform well in the upcoming competition! Thanks for helping us get them!”

• Second Semester Snacks

  My sincerest thank you! When students enter the room on "snack day", I see the biggest smiles. Slumped shoulders instantly perk up when they realize that the snack basket is out. Not only are the snacks an instant morale boost for my students, but for some of them, it is what they need to focus during the 4.5 hours until lunch. When the project was funded, our lunch was at 1:10 - which felt very late. However, after 4 unexpected and unprecedented SNOW DAYS in New Orleans, 15 minutes have been added to every day to make up the lost instructional minutes. This change resulted in lunch being pushed to 1:26 - so these snacks are more important than ever! Thank you for supporting my kiddos!”

• Incentives for First-Generation College Students

It is great to see them smile when they recognize that their hard work is not going unnoticed. Junior and senior years are filled with great memories, but they are also stressful times as students prepare for their futures. • Alleviating Testing Anxiety

  THANK YOU! As we are in the midst of PSAT, SAT, and ACT testing - plus college applications and scholarship essays - I am grateful to have materials to provide to my students to help them de-stress. Each student in my class received a goodie bag and a personalized note before the PSAT. I was also able to offer them breakfast and juice before the test (with the extras available during the break). The breakfast was accompanied by soft jazz music playing - and I could see their stress diminish as they were in my room. It is amazing how handing juniors and seniors in high school a few items with cheesy puns (like "you're turtley awesome") and snacks can bring smiles even when they are stressed. There smiles made it worth it - and I am grateful for your support of this project. Together we made some of the most stressful parts of high school a little more bearable!”

• Incentives for First-Generation Citizens

  This morning, I am working with my students on a full-length practice PSAT - to get them familiar with the format and the questions before they take the actual test in a few weeks. They nervously entered the library, but having breakfast foods and snacks spread out for them to enjoy before we started the test immediately eased their stress. They had a few minutes to enjoy pastries and juice before starting the test, and this set the tone for the entire session. We will do the same thing on Oct 16 for the real test, and hopefully it will feel comfortable and familiar and they will be able to get the scores that they are striving for. Thank you for helping me offer this opportunity to these students - many of whom are the first in their families applying to US universities!”

• More Rewards

  Thank you! My PSAT and ACT Prep students have hit the ground running. They have learned what to expect in each section and tips for being both efficient and effective in selecting their answers. They have also completed one released practice test and reviewed the questions that they missed.

  Today, we had our first team competition - where students worked in small groups to answer released questions. This collaborative time is imperative to their success, as they have the opportunity to hear how others attack a question and either learn new strategies or solidify their own practices.

  Our first challenge resulted in 2 teams missing only 3 out of 44 questions and scoring the highest in the class. Thanks to your generosity, they were excited by the idea of playing for gift cards - and they are excited for our next opportunity to compete!”
