  • Calculating the Numbers!

    Funded Sep 15, 2021

Thank you for your support of my classroom project. Often, simple computations hold my special needs students back from grasping the larger concepts, which is why I asked for these calculators. I cannot wait to share them with my students. Your generosity means so much to me and will help my students continue their path to success in my math class.

Having scientific calculators has made a significant impact on student performance. My students feel more confident in the learning environment and have excelled tremendously. My students no longer struggle with basic arithmetic and calculations and are now more focused on conceptual learning along with the procedural process. For example, my 8th grade special needs students excelled in solving systems of equations because they were able to use the scientific calculators to help them with adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing while applying the order of operations.

"Thank you again for all your support. I wish everyone well during this time."”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esposito

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Jul 18, 2021

On behalf of my students at the P.S./I.S. 25 South Richmond school who will benefit from the back to school materials received from my "Back to Basics" and "fueling us Throughout the Day" projects. I want to thank the community members who donated the hundreds of dollars worth of school supplies, such as scissors, markers, pencils, paper, glue sticks and snacks.

Students who could otherwise not afford such supplies will now have those items for their use at the beginning of the school year. Thank you for caring about the needs of others.

    Your generosity is greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

  • Supplies! Supplies!

    Funded Mar 21, 2020

In these uncertain times, I would like to thank the donors who contributed to my classroom project. My students come from diverse backgrounds, some families struggling to give their children the supplies needed for school. It was a great feeling when I was able to give my students pencils and post its and watch them annotate their primary sources.

The students were so appreciative, getting the supplies they need to have a successful start to this uncharted school year.

Even though my students have their masks on, know that there are smiles behind those masks.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esposito

  • Healthy Snacks: Essential for Learning

    Funded Dec 2, 2018

I can't even begin to thank you for this incredibly generous donation. Teaching special education, I am aware of the obstacles that my students face everyday. Having these snacks readily available to give them, having something to eat, will be one issue that they won't have to worry about. Your kindness has eliminated a problem -- hungry kids with no snacks. This wasn't a problem for all of our students, but it was definitely a problem for many of them. We now have healthy snacks in stock to eat each and every day. Learning will improve, I'm sure.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Esposito

My students are in a high need area. Poverty and language barriers are only some of the barriers my students face in order to become proficient readers. Many of my students have learning disabilities, and working with these manipulatives will help them succeed. My students are well below grade level, but I can see they want to learn and succeed in school, and these materials will help.
