Funded Dec 2, 2024Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our students with disabilities now have a safe and calming space where they can manage stress, anxiety, ADHD, and meltdowns in a supportive environment. This dedicated corner provides a much-needed retreat for students to step away from overwhelming situations, self-regulate, and return to learning with a refreshed mindset.
The impact of this space has been profound—not only does it help individual students regain focus and emotional balance, but it also benefits the entire classroom by promoting a more peaceful and understanding atmosphere. Whether a student needs to take a break, engage in quiet activities, or simply have a moment to breathe, this space empowers them to manage their emotions in a way that fosters growth and success.
Your donations have truly made a difference in creating an inclusive class”

Funded Nov 12, 2024On behalf of my students, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of school supplies. Your support has made a profound difference in our classroom, ensuring that every student has the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
Many of my students face unique challenges in their educational journey, and access to basic supplies can be a significant barrier to their success. Your generosity has helped create an inclusive, judgment-free learning environment where they feel empowered and valued. With the notebooks, pencils, folders, and other materials you provided, my students can fully engage in their lessons, express their creativity, and build confidence in their abilities.
Your kindness is more than just a donation—it is an investment in their future. Thank you for believing in them and for making a meaningful impact in their lives.”

Having our new CALM corner is such a big plus in our classroom ,it's a place where there can go when things become a rough. There are stress ball, pop it, coloring books, legos, and magnetic tiles just to name a few of the things and the setting is amazing; it has bean bags chairs, books and lower lighting to help reduce stress again, this such a wonderful addition to our classroom.Again, thank you”

Skies the Limit Through Reading
Funded Jan 9, 2024My students were sooooo surprised when they saw all of the boxes that came to the class. They couldn't wait until we unboxed everything. When all the items finally arrived and we started opening the boxes all they could do was oh and ah with each opened box with boxes they wished for, color pencils and sharpies along with several coloring boxes and oh my the legos were a big hit for all the students as the new bookcases and were assembled and the new books were placed on the shelves. We couldnt even get the books up fast enough before the students already started talking about which they wanted to read first. As the tears roll down my face from the excitement on their faces. Now they can get a book off of the bookshelf and find a great bean bag and begin to read a book they are able to read regardless of their low reading levels and how their self esteem has gone up being able to meet new friends through their shared like for a book. Thank you for your gift of reading, the sky is truly the limit.”

Reading Is My Zen
Funded Jul 8, 2023I work with some amazing students but unfortunately they have a disability, mild intellectual disability which means they have an IQ of 70 or below. With this disability it makes it hard for them to read most of the books in the school library which keeps my students away because to the fear of being judged or bullied. There is an area in the library that have books for low readers but it is named the "baby section" and course my students 14 - 21 years old do not want to be caught in that area. My students function and look like your everyday teen, they have cellphones, dress in the latest fashions, watch TikToks and sing the latest rap songs.
When I revealed the book area they were so surprised. They couldn't wait to sit in the bean bags and read their new books. We have silent reading daily and they are able to read books they like and can actually read and understand. After the students have read their books they complete a PowerPoint and tell their classmates about the book. There are times when I read books to the class and we talk about it as a group. The students are now wanting to read more and this has increased their reading levels and boasted their vocabulary. I thank you and my students thank you for the gift of reading.”

Funded Apr 13, 2023My students absolutely love their new resources such as the cash register and real like money because they are learning skills that will help them throughout their lives. My students are learning how to recognize and count money which will help them with shopping, budgeting, banking and many job skills. They have learned how to budget and create shopping list, how to make totals, and create change from their shopping list. We created a commerce classroom and the students were given jobs and were paid a weekly paycheck. After the students paid their classroom debts, any classroom fines and saved a portion of their pay the students would create a shopping list of items they needed and wanted and they were able to go shopping at the classroom store. The students were able to shop for things such as school supplies, personal hygiene items, school tees, and snacks as well as other items. The students are very excited about shopping and this has curved classroom behaviors because if they have classroom behaviors they will be suspended from their job and suspension from the job is a cut in pay which means they may not have enough money to shop at the classroom store and 3 suspensions from their job means no shopping at all. The cash register that Donor Choose has provided for my students has really given them that real life skill they need. The work books has given them the ability to create a budget, fill out a bank register, and so much more. The copier has been able to teach my students jobs skill such as classroom assistant which consist of making copies as needed for the lesson along with answering the classroom phone, collecting homework and other skills. Again, thanks you for what you have done for my students.”
