Help Us Explore Electricity With A Handheld Generator Etc.
Funded Nov 10, 2015Thank you for your generous donation, which allowed for the purchase of the Hand Held electricity generators, electric bell and series vs. parallel circuit lamp boards. These tools will greatly enhance how my students experience their lessons on electrical circuits and principles of electromagnetism .My students thoroughly enjoy opportunities to get involved in lab experiments and lab demonstrations and the equipment purchased through your donations will allow them to do this in a new and exciting manner. It is only through your generous support that I am able to provide a dynamic and hand-on learning experience for my students given the current funding atmosphere.
Once again thank you for your support and know that your donation will be used for years to come by countless students. Your support enables them to enjoy their studies of Physics and nurture their interest in pursuing additional Science courses in the future.”

Help Us Explore Fluid Dynamics With Viscosity Tubes
Funded Nov 10, 2015I received and used the Viscosity Tubes recently with my Physics students and they loved them! I'm keeping a couple set up on the front lab table and every period students keep asking to try them out. Thank you so much for making it possible for me to raise their interest in this subject through your generous donation.
The concept of Viscosity is generally one that I have difficulty getting them interested in but today they were totally engaged and involved in designing experiments to rank the viscosity of several fluids in a novel lab experience. I want you to know that it was only through your support that I was able to provide my students with this type of experience and I look forward to using it for many years to come.”

Help Us Explore Sound and Resonance With Singing Bowls
Funded Jan 17, 2016I received and used the Singing Bowls recently with my Physics students and they loved them! I'm keeping them on the front lab table and every period students ask to try them out. Thank you so much for making it possible for me to raise their interest in this subject through your generous donation.
The concept of Standing waves and Resonance is generally one that I have difficulty getting them interested in but today they were totally engaged and inquiring about how the Singing Bowls work. I want you to know that it was only through your support that I was able to provide my students with this type of experience and I look forward to using it for many years to come.”

We Need a Laptop to Help Us Enjoy Learning Science
Funded Nov 10, 2015The Macbook computer is in the hands of my students and today we had it up and running in the hands of some very happy students :-)) Today they were able to create class Prezi presentations in smaller groups which definitely is improving their enjoyment of learning the course content.
Thank you very much for the much needed resource and rest assured that it will be used by my students on an almost daily basis. They really enjoy the freedom the Macbook computer provides them when researching the Web and running online simulations and it is great to see them excited about using technology again.
Once again thank you and know that without your funding I would not have been able to provide them with this much needed technology.”

Class Set of Elizabeth Kolbert Books for Reading Enrichment
Funded Nov 10, 2015Today was the first day my students were able to read from their new class set of Elizabeth Kolbert's books and "wow" is the only way to describe the questions and comments they generated. They read the section "The Sea Around Us" and were amazed at the back story and related anecdotes and were actually upset when we had to put them down. I am looking forward to incorporating more time for them to independently read and explore the books and am truly happy and thankful that your generosity has enabled me to provide my students with the books.
Thank you once again, and know that my current students and many more future students will get great use of the books and that it could not have happened without you!!!”

Learning Physics With An RC Truck For Inclusion Students
Funded Nov 10, 2015I want to say thank you to Donors Choose and AT&T for providing me with the opportunity to get this project funded :) As you can see in the pictures my students were really excited to receive this "cool" Physics toy and are already putting it to good use.
The RC truck provided is already in the hands of my students and is greatly enhancing their enjoyment of my Physics curriculum as they are immediately began using it to record speed and acceleration data. I can't wait to see my future students looks of excitement when they realize that they will get to "play" while learning Physics next year.”

An iPad to Improve Classroom Management
Funded Feb 18, 2015Just a short note to let you know that the iPad was received this semester and has become an invaluable tool in my daily schedule. I use it to take attendance and monitor student behavior as well as keeping an eye on their individual progress through out the school day.
Additionally, my Biology students used it to explore the regions of the human brain with some simply amazing 3-D imaging apps that really helped them understand the structures and their functions. My Physics students dived right in and found some great apps for building electrical circuits that allowed them to create their own circuit designs and test them immediately.
It is only through the support of generous donors as yourselves that I am able to provide my students with this technology so once again thank-you and know that the iPad will used by many students in the coming years.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 3 other donors.Creating Videos to Teach For The Planet :)
Funded Nov 11, 2014Several of my students have just completed their first lab presentations using the GoPro camera purchased through your generous donation. They each have commented on how it has made their reports easier and more fun to complete. The statement that had the most lasting impression on me was "now I can use my time to concentrate on the principles of the lab instead of figuring out how to demonstrate my lab set-up".
I am looking forward to using the GoPro camera with additional labs and want to once again thank you for making it possible for me to help my students reach their full potentials.”
