Learn To Read With Dr.Suess And Other Books.
Funded May 31, 2011Once again, thank you so much for your support for our project. I cannot convey how excited my students were when we opened the box with all their new books with CDs, and books with puppet sets. Your generous hearts are allowing my students to learn how to read and enjoy it. My students ask to listen and read the books during their free time. By listening to the books on CD and reading along, my students are improving their reading fluency and word recognition, as well as independence while holding their own book and responsibility for turning the pages. Reading books in small group along with puppets develops my students social skills as well as their pretend play skills.
Classrooms can be more successful because there are people like you, who are willing to make difference. Thank you so much!

Fun Learning Environment for Students With Autism.
Funded Jun 5, 2010Thank you so much for your generous thoughts of my classroom and some very special students. We appreciate your donation and the materials you gave us. The dry erase markers, lap boards, and other materials are motivating my students to explore and build their literacy skills.
Students with autism struggle in many areas, but I believe these difficulties should not impede their ability to learn to read and write. These materials allow my students to learn through their different sense and to experience literacy in different ways. We appreciate the opportunity to build these skills together and I am happy to see that my students are excited to learn!”

Funded Mar 13, 2010Thank you so much for supporting my students sensory needs. My students have been using the materials and it has helped them immensely. The different sensory objects have improved my students ability to focus and calm down.
The Toy Ease Snake has helped one of my students stay in his seat for longer periods of time. The Tank Top Huggme Shirt has provided much needed sensory input for another student. The Tactile Fancy Fingers is helping my students with their sensory needs but also providing improvement of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The sandbox also provides much needed sensory input.

Manipulatives For Math and Fine Motor Skills
Funded Mar 6, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation. For my students, this is the first year in school, and they are behind in both academic and functional skills. Your donation of manipulative materials will build their skills in both of these areas.
Students have used the dry erase boards, the alphabet puzzles, and the alphabet matching games to build beginning literacy skills as well as develop fine motor skills. The number puzzles and number peg boards are creating number awareness, and still reinforcing those fine motor skills as well as improving their math skills.
My students were very excited to see their new materials, and they love to draw on the dry erase boards. We have been using an alphabet and handwriting program throughout the year. Now, each student has his or her own board to practice writing and drawing skills.
Your donation is helping some very special young students build life-long skills.”

Funded Feb 3, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation. Students with autism struggle with generalizing concepts and learn best in a hands-on environment. Your donation supplied my classroom with materials to meet the many learning needs of my students.
Painting is one of the students' favorite activities. They greatly enjoy the water colors. We use the construction paper for many different activities during the day, such as art, math, language skills, and reading. We practice labeling colors, cutting, pasting, and other activities. The glue sticks are used to reinforce many different skills, like matching and sorting letters, numbers, and shapes. Finally, the crayons help my students to develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
