  • Sharing Supplies Together

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

These Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards have enabled me to purchase so many incredible curricular resources. Some of my students' favorites are: "write the room" games (where they need to find pictures hiding around the room and write the corresponding words down), phonics board games, readers' theater scripts, and interactive fluency activities.

I print and laminate most of these resources because they can be used year after year, and I enjoy differentiating the games according to my students' groups each year as well. Thank you so much again for helping me get these resources and allowing my students to enjoy them every year.”

  • Colorful Supplies to the Rescue

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

My students and I have been enjoying these supplies ever since the project was fully funded. We use the whiteboards almost daily, and the students love using the ultra fine markers because they are so much easier to write with than the fine tips markers. These markers erase well from our whiteboards, and the erasable pens and highlighters are their favorites to write on our decodable books.

The mechanical pencils and erasable highlighters make it a little more fun for my students to work on their sentence writing and finding spelling patterns in passages.

These supplies have been enriching and useful in my classroom, and my students and I are extremely grateful that you helped us get these supplies.”

  • The More Supplies the Better

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for helping fund this project. We started using the supplies as soon as we got them. Since I print up mini-books for the students every week, I now use colorful paper to print the books and cut the books more efficiently with the paper cutter.

The students make their syllable books and have been so excited to have them bound together with the binding coils. We use the sheet protectors a few times weekly to save paper, play reading games, and make our writing more interactive.

The paints and crayons have been fun for my students to illustrate their writing and our shared reading books. The backpack has been an efficient way for me to bring the laptop out during our lessons and ensure it stays protected. Thank you again for all of your support in funding this project.”

  • Tablet to Play Music and Draw Inspiration for Reading

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity! Having this tablet is going to be so awesome in my classroom. We will be able to make our Reader's Theater more interactive and exciting by incorporating music and pictures, and I really appreciate your support in making this project come to life.”

  • Hooray for Classroom Supplies!

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

It has been awesome to have these classroom supplies in our room. With the paper cutter and laminator, I have been able to make many games, puzzles, and mini-books for my students. The book binding machine has been easy to use, and I was able to bind each student's collaborative narrative book at the end of last school year, as well as different phonics whiteboard flipbooks, summer activity books, and other small book projects. It is such an amazing tool to have!

We have used the sheet protectors to turn regular worksheets into interactive, engaging partner games, with help from the whiteboard markers and erasers, of course. The stirring sticks and pointers have been so fun for my students, especially the witch's fingers and eyeball pointers as it is getting close to Halloween.

I apologize for not submitting all of the photos that I would like to share with this project. Unfortunately, I uploaded a few and then didn't realize that I couldn't add more. I wish you could see the interactive mini-books that I bound for the students- they are one of their favorite activities. Thank you so much again! My students and I are so grateful for your generosity and donations.”

  • A Printer Brings Our Walls to Life

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

This printer has saved me so many times in our classroom. We can now have colorful papers, displays, games, puzzles, and pictures on the walls. Our classroom is a fun, stimulating place to be, and the activities are more engaging now that I can print them in color.

I believe that most worksheets are not helpful, but there are so many other uses for printed materials that I use in my teaching. I print mini-books, flapbooks, search-the-room clue games, reference posters, certificates, and so much more!

I look forward to using this printer for many more years in my classroom. I have not needed to refill the ink yet, which is usually an issue with most printers in the classroom.

Thank you again for your generosity and support. My students and I are so thankful!”

  • Hands-On Reading Tools

    Funded Apr 27, 2022

My students were so excited when they first saw the box of supplies being delivered to our classroom. After pulling the materials out, they were so eager to see all of the engaging and unique manipulatives. Ever since that day, they love to write words. They think it is so fun and exciting to use colorful, erasable pens and highlighters. They no longer get frustrated when they make a mistake because it allows them to watch the "magic" (as they call it) of erasing pen.

They use their pointers when they are reading passages and the highlighter strips also help them keep their place as they read. When my younger students are practicing blending sounds together, one of their favorite things to do is to use the wind-up cars to help them decode simple words. It is a perfect way to bring a tactile strategy to blending words.

Overall, these supplies have been helpful and rewarding for my students, and I appreciate your donations to help bring this project to life.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kalma

  • TPT to the Rescue!

    Funded Feb 2, 2022

I have been able to get so many incredible resources from Teachers Pay Teachers already with these gift cards. I bought daily interactive phonics slideshows for all of my first and second grade students, printable decodable books for my kindergarten through third grade students, and "I Can" reading intervention books.

I printed, laminated, and bound the intervention activities together so my students can work on one book/ skill at a time and they write in them. They love these books, and since there are 20 books in total, they can take turns and practice many different foundational reading skills in a fun, interactive way.

Thank you again for your generosity and helping this project come to life.”

  • Laptop, TPT, and Games... Oh My!

    Funded Apr 25, 2021

I am so extremely grateful for your generosity in making this project a reality. I don't know how I would have survived these past few months without this project.

The laptop was critical as I worked on Zoom, and even when we went back to in-person learning. In the classroom, I use the laptop for things like zooming in on the caterpillar jar and projecting it for all the students to see, playing songs and exercise videos in the classroom, and creating Google Slides to organize my lessons.

I used the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to buy curricular units that I knew my students would enjoy, and boy, have they done that!

I was able to make these incredible "enrichment bags" that each of the students took outside every day and had fun things such as magic scarves, helicopter toys, bubbles, playdough, cards, wind-up cards, hand lenses, etc. The students loved them and it kept them engaged, even while social distancing at school.

    Thank you so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kalma

  • Reading Is Fun!

    Funded Nov 3, 2021

These phonics and phonemic awareness activities have been such a hit that I am constantly including them in my reading lessons.

The color-coded letter tiles help them see the different parts of words and have been really fun in making words, both silly and real. My students love the word swatting game where they race to hit the flies (words) with fly swatters. The hopping on dinosaur footprints, building words on alligator's back, and trying to make the longest word chain with the dominoes have been both challenging and exciting for my students.

This project has done exactly what I was hoping for - excited my students to love learning to read. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kalma
