The Memory Project has captivated many hearts across the nation and the world by allowing High School Artists to render beautiful portraits of often forgotten about orphans from struggling countries. I worked with artists on two prior occasions to complete these portraits and I witnessed students grow very fond of how their art could impact the life of another human being. At TJHS, I will be working hands on with a small group of about 30 sponsored students after school. They will be using the hopefully funded supplies, Charcoal, Prismacolor pencils, and illustration markers to learn how to render portraits from the sent photographs of the orphans. Once the portraits are completed, they will be hand delivered to a place like Honduras or Uganda. A photo will be taken of the orphan holding their artistic portrait, and the orphans will write back to my students. This will be a wonderful opportunity for my students to take part in something bigger than themselves and see how their art can impact the world.
