The instructional shifts in science for the state call for students to take an investigative approach to learning. With the Climate Change lab materials, students will be able to model the process of climate change at the molecular level. This concept is often difficult for students to visualize through the current materials available (graphs and charts of data). The vast quantities of data available on this subject can be overwhelming at the middle school level. The River Sediment Materials will allow students to take on the role of geologic explorers, incorporating their knowledge of erosion and topographic maps to go on a quest searching for minerals in samples of sediment.
