It's More Than Just Blood: Support Menstruating Students Beyond Pads
Funded Dec 4, 2024Words can't describe how grateful I am to everyone who has donated to this project. For too long, students who need period products often can't get them easily, even with laws on the book. Even with period products, cramps can still take away their focus and motivation. With your generosity, my students can have access to period products in a dignified and private manner. What's more, they now have access to products that ease period cramps so they can focus on doing their best. On behalf of all of my students, I thank you sincerely.”

Funded Jan 24, 2023From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you for your generous contribution to this project. I can't even begin to describe the excitement that my students had when they first saw the care center being set up. As I unpack the boxes after school and slowly taking out all the snacks and care center shelf, my students were stunned by how much "stuff" was delivered to our class because of your contribution. They were grateful and full of hope that somewhere out there, there are people who cares about inner city students and wish them to succeed in life.
As for the day to day operation, the care center has proved incredibly valuable. My students now have a centralized location to pick up nutritious snacks, personal care item such as menstrual pads, and first-aid kit should they need it. I have also expanded the care center to include portable power station so that my students can use it to charge their electronic devices. I also have students from other classes coming over to access the care center, which is even better because I am now able to expand access to more students without them having to ask me for supplies.
As I reflect on this project, I am also looking forward to expanding other supplies that my students might need in the classroom that can enhance their learning experiences. I may later add more items to the care center pending student survey data. When I have concrete data on what more to include, I will once again rely your generousity to bring that vision into my classrom.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Timothy Chang

Funded Nov 23, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation. Your support for this project has brought healthy and easy-to-consume snacks to our classroom to help our students fuel their brain so that they can perform at their best. The pandemic has disrupted many of our students' families and this project has ensured that our students will always have a place to get food regardless of what is happening in their lives.
Our students were thrilled to find new snacks and new varieties. Some of them have never had granola bars before and were happy to find them filling and tasty. If you were to be in my classroom, you will feel the love and enthusiasm coming from our students towards your donation. They are more engaged, more energetic, and most of all, more "here" - both physically and mentally.
As far as this project goes, I am planning on starting a new project to continue brining snacks into my classroom so our future students will continue to benefit from brain fuel for the future. I am also looking for more possibilities to bring in community resources to expand access to healthy snacks to more classrooms. Till then, I thank you again for your generosity.”

Mr. Timothy Chang
