  • Creating Coding Experts!

    Funded Mar 29, 2025

Thank you again for your generous donation to help get this project funded! I look forward to using these iPads next year with my Lego club!

Last year, with the help of Donor's Choose, I was able to get a few Lego Spike kits donated. These kits, which fall under the umbrella of Lego education, allow students to build and code various vehicles, robots, and machines. The students' school issued computers, however, were not able to run the coding software. Therefore, scholars had to rely on my computer alone, which was not feasible with a group of 15.

These iPads are going to allow multiple students or groups of students to work with the Spike kits at the same time during Lego club next year! Thank you for helping my little club grow its potential even more!”

  • Starting the School Year Strong!

    Funded Sep 4, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of school supplies to my classroom. Your thoughtful contribution is not only greatly appreciated, but it will also make a meaningful impact on the students I teach.

Thanks to your support, my students now have access to the materials they need to succeed, stay engaged, and explore their creativity. Whether it's notebooks, markers, or other supplies, each item will help create a more vibrant and enriching learning environment for my class.

Your kindness demonstrates a true commitment to the education and growth of young minds, and I am so thankful for your willingness to invest in their future. Your generosity has made a lasting difference, and I can already see the positive effects it is having on my students' enthusiasm and academic success.

Once again, thank you for your kindness and support. We are truly lucky to have people like you in our community who believe in the power of education.”

  • Revving up for Lego Robotics!

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thank you again for your donation toward this project! This is my second year hosting the Lego club at my school, and I'm super excited to give my scholars the opportunity to work with these amazing Lego robotics kits!

Last year, I was able to get some basic Lego kits donated for the club, but I quickly realized that the scholars I was working with needed a little more of a challenge. I remembered going to a science conference a few years ago and hearing about the Lego Education Spike kits. As I began researching the kits, however, I knew that our school's club budget would not be able to cover the cost.

Thanks to you, my club members are going to be able to work with these kits, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, and for that I am truly grateful!”

  • We're Buzzing for Bee-Bots!

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation toward this project! Everytime I submit a project, I am always so amazed at the generosity shown by the community. It is encouraging to know that there are so many people who value education and want to play a part in bettering the educational experience of all students!

I first heard about these bee-bots at a science conference, and I knew that I had to have them for my classroom. There are so many ways that I can utilize them in my lessons, and I can't wait for my students to get their hands on them! Also, with the implementation of the new computer science standards, these bee-bots will be critical in helping to teach my students about the basics of coding, but in a fun and engaging way!

    Thank you!”

  • We Love Learning With LEGOs!

    Funded Sep 7, 2023

I cannot thank you enough for your donation to this project! Your kindness has allowed my Lego club to be quite the success! I have 34 scholars who I meet with weekly, and it has been awesome watching them create with these brand new Legos and with the help of the idea books. So far we have used Legos to spell our our names, create season-themed builds, and after a few more weeks of season-themed challenges, we will be learning how to create small sets using step by step directions. I can't wait to see all of the amazing things they'll come up with over the course of the year. Thank you!”

  • Engaging Engineering Kits For 5th Graders!

    Funded May 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. It's so exciting to think that some of the students I teach now will grow up to be the future leaders in STEM! I try to give them as much exposure and as many opportunities as I can to get them excited about science and engineering, and these materials will make that possible. I cannot wait to see what these materials will soon be transformed into by my students. I hope you too feel inspired knowing that you're positively changing the course of the lives of these students and our world! Thanks again!”

  • A Brand New Science Library!

    Funded Jul 27, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to my project! It can be so difficult to find age and grade appropriate non-fiction texts about science online, and these books are just what I needed to supplement my lessons!

In my science classroom, non-fiction texts like these help give students examples and images of the science all around us, helping them to better connect what they've learned to their everyday lives and experiences. Being able to comprehend, analyze, and interpret meaning from non-fiction texts is also a crucial skill that scholars need as they move through their educational journey.

Again, thank you for investing in the future of these future scientists! We really appreciate your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Thompson

  • Supplies for Superb Scientists!

    Funded Jul 12, 2022

Thank you so much, again, for your generous donation toward this project!

All of my scholars have been impacted positively from the materials that we received from this project. Many families are still recovering financially from the pandemic, which makes it difficult to purchase even the most basic of school supplies. Having these supplies readily available from the start of the year took so much stress off of the families of the scholars that I teach, and for that I am so grateful. I have not once had to worry about scholars not being able to complete assignments due to a lack of materials.

My ultimate goal as a science teacher is to help my students make connections with what we learn in class to phenomena they experience in their everyday lives. We are currently learning about force and having a blast! It's donors like you who allow classrooms like mine to continue to thrive-so again, thank you!”

  • Sending Scholars Back to School Safely!

    Funded Feb 18, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation toward my project. Heading back into the school building after a full calendar year of virtual learning, while still in the middle of a pandemic was extremely stressful. The health and well-being of my scholars was my top priority. I knew that we would need to handle things differently to make sure we all stayed safe!

My scholars were so excited when they saw all the supplies provided to them upon their first day back in school! It also felt great to lift that burden some of supply shopping off families, knowing they had so many other things to worry about.

The pencil boxes, mask lanyard and pouches, and other individual supplies helped lessen contact between students and we were able to end the school year safely and in good health! Many of the supplies that were leftover are still being utilized this year as well. Thank you so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Thompson

Ask one of my students if they know who Martin Luther King Jr. was, they'll surely say yes. The same is true of the likes of Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman. However, ask one of my students if they know who Katherine Johnson is, and you may be hit with a blank stare. Every year, black history month rolls around...and every year, the focus remains on the "big names," but black history does not end with MLK. As notable as he, Tubman, and Parks are, they are NOT the end-all-be-all when it comes to black contributions to our world. As a science teacher, it would be unjust to let my scholars leave me without opening up their eyes to the many African-American men and women who have contributed to black history through science and engineering since the start of our nation, and even prior! One way that I can do this is by expanding my classroom library with these books.
