Quenching Thirst
Funded Apr 7, 2022Becuase of your generous donations, I was able to order for my class enough water bottles to last for two years. Not only was I able to give every student a personal water bottle for them to reuse while at school last year, but I was able to this year as well! The importance of a refillable water bottle right now is that access to regular drinking fountains has been cut off because of COVID protocols.
Without a water bottle, my students wouldn't have access to water when in school unless thier parents sent one in with them.
I was also able to order a huge number of vinyl stickers that my students use to decorate their water bottles and express their individuality.”

Funded Jan 21, 2022Thank you for donating toward my "Comfortable and Organized Workspaces!" project. With the funding, we purchased a class set of flexible binders, lap desks, sheet protectors, and chair bands. My students created personal binders in which they keep SIPPS stories they have practiced in small groups as well as multiple Reading A-Z leveled books. They pull out these binders at least a few times a week as well as bring them home daily to share their reading skills with their families. I have seen a marked increase in the pride they have being able to practice independently using these materials as well as having gotten positive messages from parents. Our lap desks have moved the workspaces solely from desks to being able to work around the room. They are also especially helpful for those students who struggle to see from their desks and allows them a reliable workspace to move closer to the board.
Included in the pictures for this project is my binder in order to maintain the privacy of my students seeing as their names adorn their work as well as an image of them working on our carpet while using the lap desks.”

Building Home Libraries!
Funded Jan 20, 2022Through donating to this project, my students will be able to choose 3 different books to bring home with them at the end of the year to build up their home libraries. All of these books are age appropriate and the kids will be able to use their newfound reading skills to decode them as they explore them. Each book is individually wrapped which will also present the exciting opportunity to rip up some quality wrapping paper! Each student will also get a personalized bookmark (materials not included in this project). I'm so looking forward to the memories they will build in reading through these books and hopefully share with me next year.
Thank you again for your donations toward these materials and helping me secure multiple books for each child as an end of year parting gift!”

PPE's for the Busy Bees!
Funded Sep 30, 2021Thank you to those public, private and match donors to contributing towards our PPE classroom project. With the funding, we were able to purchase adult KN95 and multilayer disposable masks as well as child sized disposable masks. We also have a classroom supply of travel-size and large bottles of hand sanitizer. The finishing touch was a small cart to store all of these materials in, affectionately named our "sanitization station" and some age appropriate posters that encourage good hygiene and health practices. With COVID cases on the rise during the Omicron surge, we are using these materials daily to make sure we're doing our part to stay healthy and remain in school!”
