The Center for Performing and Fine Arts Instrumental Music program is an innovative pre-professional music education program emphasizing chamber music and small ensemble instrumental music performance, theory, composition, and improvisation. Students in our program are accepted to CPFA by audition and commute to our school twice a week from all over southeast Pennsylvania to study classical string instruments, wind band instruments, jazz, and electronic music production. Our students frequently go on to prestigious music schools such as Berklee College of Music, University of the Arts, the Boyer College of Music at Temple University, and the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. All CPFA music students study a well-rounded curriculum of not only music ensemble performance, but also music theory, composition, arranging, and improvisation.
