  • Snack Time!!

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

I am thrilled to share the remarkable impact the new snacks have had on our classroom environment and our students' overall experience. The introduction of these snacks has been a game-changer in our daily routine, providing an invaluable boost to both our students' energy levels and their enthusiasm for learning.

The initial reaction from our students when they first encountered the new snacks was nothing short of heartwarming. Their faces lit up with joy and excitement, and it was clear how much they appreciated this thoughtful gesture. The snacks have not only provided physical nourishment but have also conveyed a powerful message to our students: that their well-being and happiness are valued. This simple yet impactful act has fostered a greater sense of belonging and motivation among them.

We are deeply grateful for your support and generosity in making this possible. The positive changes we have observed in our students are a testament to the difference that a caring and considerate approach can make. Thank you for helping to create a more vibrant and supportive learning environment.”

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful gift of books you recently gave my classroom. Your thoughtful gesture touched my scholars' heart, and I am truly appreciative of your kindness.

Receiving books as a gift is always a special joy for my scholars, these books hold the power to transport my scholars to different worlds, introduce them to new perspectives, and provide endless opportunities for learning and growth. Whether it's fiction, non-fiction, or any other genre, my scholars find solace, inspiration, and enlightenment within the pages of a book, and I'm certain that these titles will be no exception.”

  • Supplies Supplies Supplies!

    Funded May 28, 2023

Thank you for providing school supplies to our rebel scholars to help them step toward having equal access to education and the tools they need to succeed academically. Some of our rebels scholars, who do not have the necessary school supplies, did not experience stress and anxiety, because our class was filled with school supplies! All of our rebel scholars felt prepared and ready to learn on day one! Our scholars are able to complete assignments on time, take notes effectively, and participate in classroom activities as well as take school supplies home.”

    With gratitude,

  • Keep it Calm and Cool!

    Funded May 30, 2023

The rebel scholars were thrilled to to see our new calm down corner. They were so excited to see the weighted animals that match our class mascot! This donation has impacted the rebel scholars by having a private corner to express their emotions and to de-escalate. They use all of the tools to support their breathing and timed to know when it is time to check back in to return to return back to learning. Not only have my class has been impacted by our new calm down area, other scholars have came to use our new space to take a moment to reflect on their needs. We do appreciate your generosity to give to our class!”

  • An Apple a Day: New Way of Learning

    Funded Feb 20, 2023

In intervention, we use the iPads to personalized students' learning. It allows students to learn at their own pace and in their own style. Our adaptive learning software can adjust to a student's needs and provide personalized instruction, feedback, and support. The iPads are also used for interactive and engaging content. Digital content, such as educational games, simulations, and videos, can make learning more engaging and interactive. This helps my students stay interested and motivated in intervention. Overall, the iPads have made it easier for learning to be more accessible, personalized, engaging, and effective for my students.”

  • The Reading Boat: Treat Your Shelf!

    Funded Mar 31, 2023

Reading in our classroom can be seen in different forms and activities such as:

Silent reading, shared reading, guided reading, literature circles, and reader's workshop.

In the morning, students are allowed to read independently for 20-30 minutes with a chosen book or a book assigned by me or my co-teacher. During our ELA block, we have read aloud. The students may choose a book to read to the class or they can choose a book for a teacher to read. This activity is done to model and promote fluent reading.

With the donated books, my co-teacher and I provide instruction on reading strategies, such as making predictions, asking questions, and making connections to the text.

Again, we thank you for supporting our classroom!”

  • Scholar Rewards: Beyond the Skittles!

    Funded Jan 23, 2023

We use our new incentives for recognition, rewards, and personalization such as praising students for their hard work and accomplishments to boost their self-esteem and encourage them to continue working hard. Providing tangible rewards such as stickers, slime, or stamps can motivate students to achieve specific goals. Lastly, tailoring incentives to students' individual interests and needs can make them feel more invested in their own learning. Our students are so happy to receive rewards each week! Again, thank you so much for putting a smile on their faces!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moore
