Time to Refresh and Reorganize
Funded Oct 8, 2022My students and I thank you so much for helping us refresh and update our materials. The students were so excited when we received our many boxes of materials and couldn't wait to help me open them so they could use them.
They were so excited to receive the marble run and plus plus base plates. I love how careful they are with them because they were donated by you! It has been a fairly wet season (it always seems to rain during our recess time) and they have had many hours building and exploring with their classmates. I love to see their creativity bloom!
The nameplates and pocket chart have given my students even more opportunity to enjoy reading lessons because now they have a place to put their letter cards during our phonics small groups. They love that they have a place to put their letters just like the teacher and are more engaged in what we are doing. The mini mirrors have allowed students who are struggling to pay close attention to their mouths while forming sounds and I have seen a lot of growth in them. My students and I are do grateful for donors like you.”

"A Little Spot" of Help for Social Skills!
Funded Sep 26, 2022I want to take this opportunity again, to thank you. The Little Spot materials my students and I received have truly made a difference in our classroom. These books are engaging and developmentally appropriate for my kindergarten students. They are responding to them in very positive ways.
I use these books to teach daily SEL lessons. We typically focus on one skill for a few days, revisiting a book multiple times. The students are thoroughly enjoying getting to know the different spots and what they stand for. I will admit, it has been a learning curve for me as I get to know the books and program, but that hasn't stopped my students from taking what they have learned from reading them and putting it into practice in their daily interactions. They are using the positive language and strategies to navigate the social, emotional and learning environments.
It gives me such pride when I hear students say things like, "Remember, the learning spot told us that it's ok to make mistakes. We just have to learn from them," when fellow classmate it struggling. Or, "You just need to grow your confidence spot!" when they see someone nervous to do something new. It's truly amazing how well they have responded to the books. I hoped they would be impactful and help me build a more positive classroom environment. I was in no way let down thanks to donors like you!”
