Birthday Gifts for My Little Family
Funded Aug 7, 2024I am so very grateful to you helping me help my students birthday gifts. The items that you graciously donated to my classroom has made them feel special on their birthday. They enjoy getting to use all their supplies in class while working on different assignments.
The look on their face when they open their gift is priceless. Believe it or not students enjoy getting school supplies that they can use and call their own. I appreciate your generous donation to my students. They truly are family to me and I want to make their birthday special.”

Comfortable Student Classroom
Funded Nov 8, 2023The students have enjoyed sitting around the room using the bumpy seats. They will use them to sit on or to lay their head on while they work. Their engagement in the assignments rise because they are able to be comfortable while working. I have noticed in increase in work from my students who have a hard time focusing. They use the bumpy seats to get their wiggles out, which helps them focus during instruction time or during their assignments.
With the room being do dark with no window and brown carpeted walls, having white cubbies to organize their materials has been great for our classroom environment. It has lightened the room up and doesn't make it so dark. The students don't want to lay on their desks and sleep like they have before. I am getting more work out of them. I appreciate your donation.”

The Feeling of Home in the Classroom
Funded Sep 6, 2023My students love that our library is more spread out so they can have more room to read comfortably. They have been able to get their notebooks and language books out of their desk and place them in their book boxes because I have a place to put them. With me having a place for the students to put extra binders or notebooks it has helped them keep their desks neater.
The students have been able use more of my teacher supplies because they are organized in the containers in the drawers. They know that each item they use has it's own place, which makes clean up easier and faster. They are learning valuable life skills by keeping things organized and neat. We appreciate your donation to our classroom.”

Funded Jun 29, 2023I appreciate your generosity with helping me get engaging novel study activities. The students are enjoying our first novel study Third Grade Angels. They get excited when they know we are going to be reading the book and working on multiple activities. Some activities that they get to do during this novel, is making a cereal box that includes important events from the story.
We will get to enjoy another novel after we finish this one. Reading is important to me and these activities help tremendously with their comprehension. It helps them dive deeper into the story and use the story to help them understand the skills and strategies that are needed for comprehension.
I am grateful for you because without your generous donations I wouldn't be able to make this happen for my students.”

Funded Sep 9, 2022My students love the comfortable seats they get to sit in while they read books. The Big Joe's are a hot commodity in our classroom. Being able to provide comfortable places for the students to sit that is around the room is beneficial to their learning. They don't like to stay at their desks all day everyday, they like to get up and move to different spots around the room.
The students are able to move the Big Joe's to different parts of the room because I want the class to feel like home and I want them to feel comfortable. They don't just use the Big Joe's for reading, they will use them to work on their assignments too. Comfortable seating is a must for my students and their education.”

Funded Aug 9, 2022I want to express so much gratitude to everyone who donated to help my class get novels. My students have been engaged everyday during our reading lessons and they even WANT to read more at the end of the day. My hope for my students is that they would love reading and discussing the novel to help improve their reading comprehension. We would discuss their predictions on what will have in the next chapter, we were able to compare and contrast the characters, work on summarizing and sequencing.
The students are excited when it comes time for us to read our novel. They like to read, but they also like when I read it to them. They are all involved and all following along when I look up. They are also very supportive of each other. I have different strengths of readers in my class and when my not so strong readers read, they support them and build them up.
The whole class is enjoying the novels. They always left wanting more and as a teacher that makes my heart happy.”

Funded Mar 7, 2022The new library that you helped me obtain will be wonderful for my students next year. I don't have to worry that my 3rd grade students will have grade appropriate books to read now. It is hard and expensive to transition to a new grade, especially a grade that is much lower than what I am teaching now. My 5th graders were helpful with reorganizing my class library and kept informing me which books they have already read. It made me even more excited for next year, to know that I got books my younger students would read. I am looking forward to watching them experience different genres and getting lost into their new books.”

Individual Learning Supplies
Funded Feb 11, 2022Thank you for donating to my project. My students were excited to see the boxes come into the classroom. When I opened the headphones open and told them that they were able to use them and that they will actually work, they shouted and clapped. I asked them to take extra care of them and they have done just that. They got many uses out of them, but the best use was during RISE testing. They had working comfortable headphones. My students will be able to use the headphones anytime they are on the computer. We work on LEXIA, read aloud novel studies, and testing. The kids have enjoyed having their own set to use and not have to worry if they are going to work for them or have to share. From my students to you, "Thank you"!”

Books For My Students
Funded Nov 13, 2019My students and I greatly appreciate your donation to add books to our class library. We are able to enjoy new grade level books during our independent reading time. The students were excited to get the new books that they wanted to have a read-a-thon. With your generous donations, we were able to get books that they need to read for our Battle of the Books reading competition. They don't have to worry that the library won't have the books now.
Reading is important to me and to my students. We read everyday, multiple times a day. All of my students enjoy reading.”

Hands On Learning Is The Key To Success
Funded Feb 15, 2019I appreciate the generous donation to my students and my classroom. The earthquake kits were a great learning tool for my students. They throughly enjoyed seeing the beauty if nature right in front of them. Through this practical hands-on experiment in the class the kids understood the true power of mother nature. It was a very eye opening experience for them.
The headphones allowed my students to take control of their own personal learning because it allowed them to work individually. As we transition into a 21st century leaning design with the focus shifting to students learning on an individualized level, these headphones help my accomplish that. I watched as students were able to advance far beyond my expectations that I could have done as a teacher in a lecture setting. It was the students that were able to put their own learning back into their own hands with the help of the headphones.
I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my hearts for the donations to my classroom and my students. It is because of the amazing people like you that have helped my students succeed. I appreciate all you have done. Again, Thank you.”

Mrs. Norton
