Thank you so much for contributing to this project! I am excited to see the impact it will have on my classroom and current and future students. I am always humbled by the support of this community and it is due to this support which is why I love to serve here. Thank you again!”

  • Distance Learning Tools

    Funded Aug 27, 2020

This has greatly improved my ability to teach my content digitally this year. I can use it as a doc cam on zoom, or as a white board where I can draw on images and write down student thoughts. It has literally been the difference in some units of being able to create fun and engaging lessons that increase the students understanding!

This device will even increase in value as we are moving towards a hybrid model in the spring semester. I have yet to fully explore how it will help me teach in a hybrid setting but I can only imagine that its value will continue to demonstrate itself to me day in and day out.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Chamberlain

  • Diving Deeper into Understanding Human Behavior Through Project Based Learning

    Funded Nov 2, 2017

Thank you so much for helping fund my project. The impact the computers have had on my students has been huge. The ability to research and collaborate on several projects so far has been great. With the laptops my students have been able to create real application of their knowledge and has allowed them to generate a deeper understanding of the material. One specific case was where they needed to develop a visual image that represented a personality disorder. the computers allowed them to research what exactly their disorder was like and then creatively come up with great visuals that will help them remember what each different personality disorder is like.

The students are most excited about how they now have access to technology whenever they need it not just when I plan for them to have it in class. Sometimes they may suddenly realizes they require the need to use technology but I may not have anticipated the need so they don't have it available to them, but now they can go and grab it anytime they need it.

Almost all of my students have warmed up to the tech because they are such a tech focused generation. They appreciate the availability when they need to be able to access it.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Chamberlain

I want the kids to be able to research, communicate, and collaborate digitally as a daily habit. As pedagogy and curriculum changes, I’m finding it increasingly important to maintain a one-to-one environment to empower kids to interact and research with the psychological worldview. Many in our population of students have access to the digital world at home. They think digitally. They think communicate digitally. They research digitally. By providing 10 more Chromebooks in my classroom, I can more whole heartedly dive into a digital culture and pedagogy without leaving many of my students without computers behind. By providing 10 more Chromebooks in my classroom, I can engage students where they are and further develop the digital skills that will be required in the 21st century.
