Guarding the Colors
Funded Jan 19, 2023I cannot thank you enough for your donations to our project, starting this colorguard has been my dream and being able to help them get some of the materials that they deserve in order to be successful within our competition circuit has been wonderful. We consistently receive wonderful remarks about our flag silks and it's so great to have everything we need so that we can be a matching and unified group with all of our equipment safe and up kept. Having the carrying bags for our flags was perfect so for when we travelled to our shows and practices as well. We came in third in our division, which I believe is a wonderful start for our new team. Thank you so much for your help.”

Funded Dec 31, 2022I cannot possibly thank you enough for all of your help with getting these new resources for our colorguard teams. Being a teacher or a student in an inner city is always tough, there's never enough resources to fund all of the projects and teams that we hope to provide for our students. Starting this new team has taken a lot of work and planning, attempts, mistakes, realizations, and a whole lot of just making it work no matter what for the kids. We have been able to go to 3 competitions so far and done 2 shows for our community and they have gone over extremely well. One of our groups came in first at one show, and both groups have gotten fantastic feedback from the judges and made amazing improvement so far. With the final 2 weeks of our season we are working to clean up our show to make it the best possible. We have gotten wonderful comments about our flags and it is all thanks to your generous donations. Thank you for your help.”

Funded Oct 8, 2019I can't thank you enough for your generous donations to our classroom. My students will be so excited to receive new class pets, and even more exciting, to be able to use the produce we grow to feed our other class pets! :) Thank you again for helping me help my students get the materials they deserve. :)”

STEMs, Leaves, Flowers, and Bee Sticks
Funded May 30, 2019When I was in college I took a course to learn about best practices to use when teaching science to children. It was in this class that I first found a true passion for science. We spent a good deal of time working with Wisconsin fast plants, and since learning about the parts of a plant is part of our first grade science curriculum, I felt that this would be perfect addition to our classroom. It was so much fun seeing the excitement on the students faces when I told them that we would be planting, especially when I told them that we would be using real dried out bees to pollinate our plants! :) Thank you for your generous donations and for helping my classroom dreams come to life.”

Funded Jun 7, 2019Being a teacher in a school with a focus on STEM education it is important to have the resources that we need to show our children all that we want them to learn and internalize. With the help of your generous donations to our project, we have received some wonderful high quality STEM literature that builds up our students in so many ways. From showing females in powerful STEM careers, to showing students the importance of never giving up and not letting other people's words and actions stop you from being you as an individual.
My students have also had some wonderful time being engineers and solving problems with the various hands on kits that we received. They were so excited and I feel so lucky to be supported by people that understand just how important it is to build up the children in our schools.”

Funded May 13, 2019I can't possibly thank you enough for your generous donations. As a first grade teacher, I learned quite quickly that if I didn't teach the kids how to organize their things, then I was going to spend the entire year dealing with missing pencils, a lack of erasers, and constant cries of "Miss Crotty, I can't find mine, can I have another!" And so our need of materials was born. The students love having a pencil case to call their own to use and keep all of their belongings in. Students will have a writing center to use with multiple paper choices so as they build their ability as writers they will know where to go to get all of their wonderful ideas out and down on paper. When students have a finished piece of work they will now have a set of mailboxes to place it in to take home so that they will not worry about losing all of their hard work. Thank you again for all of your help and support of our classroom.”

Funded May 6, 2019I can't possibly thank you enough for your amazing support of our project. In our school it has been very difficult and though we have tried hard to advocate for playground equipment, we have not been successful. Now thanks to your generosity we are able to at least provide our students with high quality toys to play with outside. We know that they will be highly loved by the students and I know that they are excited to be able to do so. I'm sure you can see by the pictures just how excited they were when opening them, so much so that I had to keep reminding them that we weren't outside yet. :) Thank you again for your help.”

Funded Jul 19, 2018I want to thank you so much for the generous and thoughtful donations to our classroom. I feel so lucky to have been able to have this project funded for Kindle Fires in our classroom. They have become a wonderful and fun learning tool that is also a fantastic incentive for the students. My favorite part is that students work to finish their school work quickly so that they can go on the tablet and learn even more! I am hoping to find even more opportunities to incorporate more reading websites into my classroom as I conduct more research. Thank you again for your help in supporting our classroom.”

LEGO People Are People Too
Funded Dec 31, 2018I cannot possibly thank you enough for your donations to our Lego project! The students are absolutely loving all of the new accessories. When we first got the kits, it was amazing seeing the way that the kids worked together in teams to put all of the pieces together. Afterwards, there was so much excitement that they started behaving even better so that I would give them a bonus opportunity to play. I have loved seeing the increase in imaginative play and the way that the kits have brought together new friends playing together. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

Gathering Information about the Real World
Funded Sep 11, 2018Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful donations. We have been receiving our magazines and the students absolutely love them! One reason why I felt that it was a great addition to our classroom was because I feel like my students do not get enough information about the world around them. It is also so difficult to find high quality informational writing that is at the reading level of my first graders. I send the magazines home with the students so that they will hopefully share them with their families and build up their home libraries. With your donations, my students and I were able to make these wishes a reality. Thank you again for your support of our classroom.”
