  • Financial Literacy Class Store!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

It was my goal for my students, many of which are students with diverse special needs, to develop financial literacy skills throughout the school year. After discussing the importance of earning, investing, and saving, our kiddos have had the opportunity to earn classroom money for things such as performing their class jobs, attending school on a daily basis, doing their homework, performing acts of kindness, and going above and beyond while meeting academic expectations. We have established a classroom store stocked and supplied with the snacks, treats and incentives you so generously funded as well as existing school supplies. Every week, the students have and will take turns running the classroom store while their classmates shop with the money they have earned. The students use the money saved to purchase/invest in items such as basic supplies and snacks. Thanks again for your kind and generous contributions to our project and for taking an interest in our students' development! You are appreciated!!”

  • Materials for a Strong Start!

    Funded Jul 17, 2023

My project goal was to provide my students with the materials they need in order to thrive and address their specific special needs. My students come to school on a daily basis ready and eager to learn, however many of them lack the basic school supplies and items needed in order to accomplish their objectives. Many of them also come to school hungry and although they receive free breakfast and lunch, they can use some snacks between meals and on their way home. It was my wish to provide my students with materials such as folders, notebooks, glue sticks, wipes, reusable towels (instead of paper towels), lunch totes and bags, tissue, water bottles and snacks. Thanks to your kindness and generosity our goal was accomplished! It warms my heart to know that there are caring and kind people like you who are willing to lend a helping hand. The supplies and materials you so generously funded were put to good use upon arrival! These have provided all of our students with the ability to stay healthy, hydrated, and actively engaged in their learning as they focus on the task at hand.”

  • We R Ready!

    Funded Jun 17, 2023

Today was our first day of school! It was a fabulous day. The kiddos were ecstatic to find that so many goodies had been donated by special individuals and organizations who were interested in helping them be prepared and ready to learn and succeed! Our project goal was to provide my students with the basic classroom supplies they need in order to thrive academically and address their specific special needs. Typically, our students come to school on a daily basis ready and eager to learn, however many of them usually lack the basic school supplies needed in order to accomplish their objectives. It was my wish to provide my students with basic supplies such as folders, markers, group staplers, glue, labels, highlighters, and incentives. Our goal was definitely accomplished, and the students were thrilled to find that there are selfless, generous individuals and organizations who are willing to fund projects like ours in order to help them succeed!”

  • Almost Middle Schoolers!

    Funded May 21, 2023

As my fifth grade students prepare for their biggest transition since kindergarten and begin to decide what middle schools they will be attending next year, it was my goal to have an end of year celebration with graduation banners and inspirational messages where each and every student would be recognized for their individual talents. My kiddos have been working hard all year to attain their academic goals and thanks to your contribution toward our project, the end of year celebration is going to be a great one! Not only will we celebrate each students' accomplishments, but each student will receive an inspirational graduation gift bag filled with goodies (snacks, treats and graduation trinkets) as they make their transition into middle school.

Thanks again for taking an interest in our project and making our goal to have the best ever end of year celebration a reality. Your kind generosity is greatly appreciated by all!”

  • STEM Presentation/Celebration!

    Funded Oct 23, 2022

The goal of our project was for my kiddos to become more creative, independent and in charge of their own learning. Thanks to your selfless generosity, our goal has become a reality. The microphone you helped fund has been used by our students for their projects, celebrations and presentations multiple times thus far and we are only halfway through our academic school year. During a recent special event, our fifth graders engaged in a multitude of activities that were set up on stage and presented to the 3rd and 4th graders. This was an interactive hands-on event and fun and learning was had by all. Thank you for taking an interest in our project, our kiddos and public school education. You are appreciated.”

  • Holiday Celebration!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

It was my goal to have a fun holiday winter celebration as a culminating activity to our yearly social studies unit on holidays around the world! Thanks to your generosity our winter celebration included a special arts and crafts party with holiday treats. As part of our holiday party, my students had an opportunity to create holiday ornaments for their parents as well as partake in a celebration which included singing, dancing, playing instruments and sharing holiday candy, treats and snacks. They were even able to make gift bags for one another to enjoy over the holiday season! Thank you so very much for taking an interest in our project and our kiddos! You are appreciated!!”

My students attend a Title 1 school. The school is located in a low socioeconomic Hispanic area. The population of the students in my class consists of mostly Hispanic students, some with very limited English proficiency. Some of these students have recently arrived in the United States and their families are struggling to provide their children with the basics. Most of these students have been impacted by their parents' struggles and are in need of motivation and a boost to their self esteem.
