  • One Family....Many Nationalities!

    Funded Oct 10, 2024

It was my goal for my students, many of which are students with diverse special needs, to develop financial literacy skills throughout the school year. After discussing the importance of earning, investing, and saving, our kiddos have had the opportunity to earn classroom money for things such as performing their class jobs, attending school on a daily basis, doing their homework, performing acts of kindness, and going above and beyond while meeting academic expectations. We have established a classroom store stocked and supplied with the treats, fidget toys, school supplies and incentives you so generously funded as well as existing snacks and displayed in the requested metal storage rack and bins. Every week, the students have and will take turns running the classroom store while their classmates shop with the money they have earned. The students use the money saved to purchase/invest in items such as basic supplies, treats, incentives and snacks. Thanks again for your kind and generous contributions to our project and for taking an interest in our students' development! You are appreciated!!”

  • Together We Can!

    Funded Sep 16, 2024

Every year our class engages in a kindness matters theme near the beginning of the school year. We create a kindness squad and engage in related activities. This year, I created a project to help students cultivate empathy and a spirit of giving among students by providing them with the materials they need to support their peers. Our goal was to help students see the world through the eyes of another person and foster a community grounded in compassion, understanding and kindness. Thanks to your kindness and generosity our project became a reality and our kiddos had the opportunity to not only nourish their bodies with the provided snacks, but also to nourish their understanding of empathy and compassion.

Students took an active role in this project by participating in snack drives and distribution. They learned about the impact of food insecurity and worked collaboratively to address this issue. Through discussions and activities centered around compassion, students explored different perspectives and the importance of supporting one another.

The project was a great success thanks to your support and generosity, you are appreciated more than words can express!”

  • Care Corner!

    Funded Jul 30, 2024

My goal for our project was to create a care corner to provide items for my 5th grade kiddos and any other students that may not have the opportunity to have these available to them. I had been supplying my care corner throughout the years and it was getting very expensive, so I created our project in hopes that it would be funded. Thanks to your contributions it did! The materials you helped fund were put to good use upon arrival and have made it possible for ALL of our kiddos to start the fifth grade empowered with the materials they need to succeed! The care corner provides things such as feminine products, breakfast foods, lunch snacks, hygiene items and many more things including school supplies. It is hard for students to be successful if their needs are not being met and thanks to your kindness and generosity this has become a reality. Thanks to you our care corner has reached all of my students and many others in our grade level. You are appreciated by all!”

  • End of Year Supplies, Snacks and Incentives!

    Funded May 8, 2024

As my fifth grade students prepared for their biggest transition since kindergarten and began to decide what middle schools they will be attending next year, it was my goal to have an end of year celebration with graduation banners and inspirational messages where each and every student would be recognized for their individual talents. My kiddos had been working hard all year to attain their academic goals and thanks to your contribution toward our project, the end of year celebration was a great one! Not only did we celebrate each students' accomplishments, but each student received an inspirational graduation gift bag filled with goodies (snacks, treats and graduation trinkets) as they made their transition into middle school.

Thanks again for taking an interest in our project and making our goal to have the best ever end of year celebration a reality. Your kind generosity is greatly appreciated by all!”

  • Holidays ‘round the Globe and the Lunar New Year!

    Funded Dec 7, 2023

Thanks to your caring and generous contributions to our project, our Holiday Project was a great success! Every year we wrap up our social studies unit on holidays around the world with a special theme culminating activity. This year it was my hope to have a fun holiday winter celebration and have a special arts & crafts party complete with snacks, treats and goodies!

Thanks to your generosity, we had an EXTRA special celebration! As part of our "Holiday Extravaganza", were able to give my students an opportunity to create holiday ornaments for their parents as well as supply them with treats, snacks and gift bags for them to enjoy over the holiday season. Regardless of their individual challenges/special individual needs, my students are always eager to learn and have been working hard to meet their academic goals. This holiday season together, we ensured that all my students will feel the joy and spirit of the season firsthand! Thank you so very much for your support and kindness! You are appreciated!!”

My students attend a Title 1 school. The school is located in a low socioeconomic Hispanic area. The population of the students in my class consists of mostly Hispanic students, some with very limited English proficiency. Some of these students have recently arrived in the United States and their families are struggling to provide their children with the basics. Most of these students have been impacted by their parents' struggles and are in need of motivation and a boost to their self esteem.
