This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares.Loose Parts and Active Engagement
Funded Sep 11, 2023The students are greatly enjoying these resources and the opportunities they allow. The students have been talking about what the resources look like, different ways they could use the resources, and what they are creating with them. This has been a wonderful way to encourage them to use their language skills and expand their vocabulary.
The students are expanding their social-emotional skills by sharing the supplies with each other. They have been engaged in cooperative building activities to see what each can add to the creations they are making.
This was a wonderful opportunity that we are grateful to have. Thank you.”

Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you again for the best wishes and the donations. The students were excited to start using the supplies. We've managed to put the organizers to use for easy access to paper for students to grab for their own art activities. They have already put the pencil sharpener to use to help sharpen their colored pencils. The letter practice boards were super popular as the kids practiced turn taking as they explored not only how it worked, but what letters were on it. They were naming letters and watching as the magnet pieces came up or were pushed down. They were super excited. The kids are already making plans for magnets and using the colored pens to draw with.
Thank you again.”

Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you so much for the wonderful donations and well wishes. My students were super excited when the boxes started coming in. While our original item wasn't available the new items will go to good use. The students can make their own space activities to take home. They were super excited about the new puzzles to help build their problem solving skills and explore new activities. The students have started planting items for spring, so the new planters are coming in handy for some wonderful decorative, but functional planters.
Thanks again, these are wonderful resources that will be used time and time again to help build imagination, play, and developmental skills.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for these resources. My students are enjoying the new opportunities that have opened up. They were super excited when the resources arrived and enjoyed opening the boxes to see what had come.
Alphabet bowling has encouraged exploration and curiosity into and about letters. They are taking turns as they play the game. They are using their words and engaging with each other.
The sensory tubes have them asking questions about the tubes, making them curious about what is happening. They help students calm down when upset.
The paint cup allows students access to paint in a safe capacity, they can paint independently without spilling paint or waiting for the teacher to refill the cup.
The building blocks allow the students to explore math, building, and engineering activities. They are learning to follow directions as well as seeing if they change the set directions and if the object or goal actually works.
Our future goals are to continue engaging with these resources and using them throughout the day to help students expand their developmental skills.”

Funded May 2, 2022Thank you so much for the notes of encouragement and the money you donated to help provide my students with these wonderful resources and opportunities. My students were very curious and excited when they saw the boxes. The students enjoyed exploring what was inside and discussing how they could engage with the materials. I heard students asking each other to play together, to share as well as describing what they had and what they were doing with the item. Students were super excited about all avenues of the resources you helped provide. Multiple students asked about the puzzles, the magnets were a huge hit and students used them in multiple stations also comparing what came in the box they chose versus a box another student chose. The books on CD allowed students to independently "read" the story on their own, when they wanted to listen to it. The tubs have also been very supportive by helping us organize supplies for the students to use in a more independent manner.
Again thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021Thank you so much for your encouragement and support of my students and classroom, it is greatly appreciated.
The students were highly excited when the supplies arrived and couldn't wait to open them. They explored the items as we opened the boxes and started discussing what one could do with the different items. The headphones were a big hit because students can now listen to and read stories on their own. The life cycle set, bugs and planting resources were helpful as we have been discussing nature and how animals and plants grow and develop. The students were able to plant things not only in the classroom, but to take home seeds that they planted at school to see at home.
The math and letter supplies were really exciting for the students. One boy was so excited he told us "now I have more than flat shapes, I have 3-d shapes too." This has led to the students figuring out how to make the flat shapes look like their 3-d counterparts and how they are similar and different. The numbers have led to students counting and making math problems. The letters were exciting, because some of the students started spelling out words or putting the alphabet in order.
Thank you so much, these resources have been a wonderful and needed addition to the classroom and also allow for me to send supplies home to the parents who need them.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021Thank you so much for your support for this project.
My students were highly excited when they saw the boxes and couldn't wait to see what was in them. As they started exploring the materials, they would ask questions about what the different items were and how to use them. They also couldn't wait to share with parents and others that they had new supplies come in to help increase their exploration and learning.
The supplies arrived just as we were starting our nature and camping unit. The students explored the materials and decorated the room, setting up a campsite a small pond and a garden area. They used language explaining where the bugs and rocks were hidden. They used math to compare sizes and counting how many they each had. They are expanding their social skills by sharing and taking turns with the different resources available so that they each have an opportunity.
Thank you so much for this opportunity and support. My students will continue to explore and use these resources to strengthen their learning and development skills.”

Funded Nov 23, 2020Thank you for the contributions and support you have provided. The students were super excited to see the supplies and being able to explore the new resources that you helped provide.
The students are enjoying the opportunities to explore the differences the science kits provide. They are seeing what magnifying glasses can do, how the ramps affect the speeds and how things roll on different textures, they are exploring what items are magnetic and not only using them with the kits, but other items in the room. The students are enjoying feeding the animals, they are using their fine motor skills to pick up the pieces, they are exploring math skills by counting, and they are using social skills by taking turns. They are exploring how to use the paint to express their thoughts and are using the shells to explore numbers and letters. They are enjoying the panda kit to build and move them around. The students do a fantastic job of using the resources and their imaginations to take what they have and use them in a variety of ways.
We are enjoying these resources and we will continue to use to explore new ways to use these resources to help the students develop play and learning skills.”

Funded Nov 14, 2020My students and I greatly appreciate your generosity and your encouraging words. The students were highly excited when they saw the boxes and couldn't wait to see what was inside them. They were using their words and manners to ask what items were and what they were used for. As we explored the items, they started seeing what other uses the items could have. An example is the math counters, they started associating them with making patterns or seeing which ones were different sizes. They checked to see if one had more than the other and they talked about where you would find the animals in the counting set. They were using the magnifying glasses to see the insects up close and then comparing them to what the binoculars showed. My students are enjoying the new resources and are using language and exploration skills to explore the resources and what they are seeing, hearing, and learning. The students are using the puppets to reenact stories and rhymes, they are discussing what they see with both the people and the puppets. They are interested and exploring the differences and similarities and wanting to know about foods, music, art and cultural from around the world. They are exploring the tree-house animals, the bugs, and ocean animals while comparing them and talking about where they might find them.”
