My students reside and attend a Title I school in Fullerton, located in Orange County, California. The school serves students in grades TK-6, of which 97.6% percent are Hispanic, 0.2% are Black, and 1.2% are White. Sixty-five percent of students are English Language Learners and the vast majority of students qualify for Free or Reduced lunch. The students in my classroom enjoy sharing and collaborating with one another. I provide multiple opportunities for students to share through think-pair-shares, small group activities, and collaborative projects. Student learning becomes evident through these types of experiences as they share their knowledge and engage each other on the topics we are studying in class. It is especially important for my English learners to have the opportunity to vocalize their learning in order to internalize language. I also have 4 students who receive resource services to help them meet their educational needs.
