  • Hungry Kids Can’t Learn!

    Funded Aug 5, 2019

The students are so excited about our snacks! I put a huge mountain of boxes near the door so that when they walked in they would see all of your generosity! They were beyond excited. Students have been asking if they can take snacks home and I have had plenty to share so that I can send snacks home with students who may be otherwise hungry. We have had snack every morning between breakfast and lunch will allows us to stay engaged in our work and not think about how we are hungry. Thank you so so much for your generosity in supporting our class of 2030!”

  • Headphones to Keep Us Learning

    Funded Sep 8, 2019

Thank you so much for providing 3 2nd grade home rooms with headphones! These headphones are much better quality than what we had, which means they aren't breaking or accidentally unplugging. This interrupts everyone's learning and students cannot make progress with interruptions. Now, thanks to you, students stay focused on their programs and grow their brains every day. The headphones are noise cancelling so they aren't distracted by anything going on around them! The whole 2nd grade team (3 teachers and 100 students) thank you so much!!”

  • Building our Love of Learning through Creativity!

    Funded Aug 17, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations! Students have been so excited to use the new markers and colored paper. These supplies help us to be excited about centers and continue to grow during independent work. We have been using Lego's during recess and kids love them! We have pencils, erasers, and all of the essentials we need to keep our classroom running smoothly.

Our notebooks and fancy pens help students advance their writing skills every day and have fun doing it. We have been using the smelly crayons as a treat at the end of the day on Thursdays. It helps us to calm down and appreciate our friends and everything we learned. We used the bags to help keep our independent reading books organized. There are so many ways that these supplies have impacted this class. Thank you again!!”

  • Creating to Grow our Minds!

    Funded Dec 1, 2018

Thank you so much for the coloring supplies! It has been very cold here so we have had a lot of indoor recess. The colored paper, scissors, markers, erasers, and other supplies have made a world of difference! When we first opened the box, the kids were so excited for all of the new things! The kids have so much fun creating cards, drawings, and 3d art. We have also been able to use it for literacy and it makes the lesson so much more enjoyable. Thanks again for donating and making the Temple Owls so happy :)”

  • Hungry Brains Can't Learn Pt. 2

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

Thank you so much for the snacks you donated to our classroom! You should have seen the kids faces when the 6-7 boxes of snacks came! It's so exciting to have choices and now no one goes hungry. These snacks also help me to make sure that no one is hungry and provides snacks that I can send home for students. They also provide food when a student doesn't like the lunch options. Thank you so much for your donation! It really makes such a s difference to be able to offer food all day. Now we can all learn with full bellies.”

  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded Jul 27, 2018

Thank you so much for the organization bins! They really help us save time by being organized. In centers, students know exactly where to go to get their folders and journals because now we can organize them by group. This allows more time for students to learn and spend working on their writing, reading, or comprehension questions. We also organized our homework and end of the day activities so if students lose anything or need a new paper they know exactly where to go without having to ask the teacher.”

  • New Year, New Books!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you so much for our new books! Students who are on first grade levels have been struggling to find books they enjoy in our room. Now that have a lot of books to choose from during centers! This helps them to build on their love of learning and to read the whole time during centers. You should have seen their faces when I showed them all of the new books! They were so excited! This has made such an impact on our class and will continue to make an impact as these readers move to 2nd grade levels!”

  • Hungry Brains Can't Learn

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you SOOOOOO much for the food! Not only do we have food for snack we now have an option of which snack we want! Students need all of their basic needs met before they can learn and having these snacks helps students to not be hungry before lunch when they are working. At this school we have 100 % free lunch and breakfast but there is a lot of time between breakfast and lunch so it is great to have a snack to break up the morning. Thank you again so much! Goldfish, gummies, and granola bars oh my!! :)”

  • Tablets to Grow Our Brains

    Funded Apr 9, 2018

Thank you so much for our THREE NEW TABLETS! It is amazing having enough working tablets for all students during guided reading and math. The students love the math and sight word games, and they are learning so much for the apps we have! Now that we have more tablets I can give more attention to my small groups and worry less about students interrupting others while they are learning. Everyone in the room is learning during centers, whether they are in small group or on tablets! Thank you so so much! Your generosity is appreciated.”

  • Guided Reading for Growing Minds

    Funded Feb 21, 2018

Wow! What a difference these books have made!! Students are so engaged and excited about our new books. The books meet the needs of 90% of our class who are at these levels. During centers students are really quiet since they like their books so much which allows students in small groups to learn even more. The sports books and dinosaur books were a huge hit! We ended up getting 80+ books so we will have new books to last us through the end of the year! Thank you so much for your support especially the person "MB" who donated so much to our project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plever
