Essentials for 2nd Grade
Funded Apr 11, 2022Thank you so much for providing 3 2nd grade classrooms with the essentials we need to finish the year strong. The teachers were so happy to have pencils, black dry erase markers, erasers, and paper. We used the color cardstock to create Mother's Day Cards. We use the pencils and erasers everyday for classwork. We use dry erase markers in order to show work and for teachers to collect data about who might need extra help quickly. Having these things made a world of difference. As many of you may know, the stock on things like pencils, erasers, etc gets really low after all of our hard work throughout the year. Thank you again for allowing us to finish the year strongly with everything we need!”

Funded Feb 1, 2022Thank you so much for providing our school with long sleeve shirts to keep us warm! We have changed hundreds of students who felt cold in their classrooms so that they can feel comfortable at school and continue to learn and grow. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes in a child's learning when they are warm and comfortable! These shirts are stored in the guidance counselors office so that they can be used by all students at our school whenever it is needed. These will continue to be used at Kirkpatrick for years, all thanks to you!”

Headphones & Markers to Grow our Brains
Funded Dec 13, 2021Thank you so much for supporting us with markers and headphones! These items are essential for our everyday work. We use the whiteboard markers 3-4 times a day, and with 30 students you can imagine markers don't last very long! We use them to solve math problems, spell new words, and show our work. So we really appreciate you getting these materials for us. Headphones are another item that break easily, but now that we have some good quality headphones, they haven't broken at all. We love using our headphones for Lexia, Prodigy, and Zearn.”

Make Indoor Recess Fun
Funded Jan 19, 2022Thank you so much for making recess fun! We have legos, coloring, computers, dinosaurs and games now! Now when it is cold or raining, students can have just as much fun inside as they would outside. The kids love the connect 4 and the markers the most. We are learning about bridges so it's fun for kids to build bridges with legos during recess. This is so important for kids to have this break so that when it is learning time, students can fully engage in what they are learning. We appreciate you so much for making indoor recess fun and allowing our brains to grow!”

Uniform Polo Shirts to Help Students Learn
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for donating to provide our school with blue polos. These shirts have been used by at least 50 kids in grades k-12 so far! We wash them between uses so that when students come to school out of uniform they can come to the guidance counselor and get a beautiful blue polo. These polos can be used at our school for years to come by countless students who don't have the resources to buy or clean their uniform shirts at home. Thanks for helping to bring a sense of belonging to these students!”

Hungry Brains Can't Learn
Funded Jan 10, 2022We are so excited that the snacks and incentives came in this week! Our classroom is fully stocked with food, which will make it so no kid is ever hungry! I have the ability to have an extra food bin that students can take home every day! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for providing us with this food. You can't imagine the difference it makes to a student knowing they are taken care of. Our school provides snack and lunch but sometimes students don't care for the options. This food allows me to offer other options. I also have many incentives in this project so that students who are working hard can earn special treats to keep them motivated. Thank you!”

Uniform Polo Shirts
Funded Nov 17, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project! Since we received the package we have been able to loan uniforms to at least 25 kids this week! As you know, this allows students to feel belonging, have self esteem and focus on learning. This makes a huge impact on how they function at school. It gives these students more energy and allows space for their brains to grow since their needs are being met. We appreciate you funding this project for our school and allowing hundreds and hundreds of students to benefit from this project since we clean and recycle the shirts for students to borrow when they arrive.”

Sound Phones to Help Us Read!
Funded Oct 9, 2021We are so grateful for the sound phones! Our entire school is able to use them in small groups, because each class received enough for their largest group. In my class students have been fascinated with listening to themselves read. This has also lead to students being able to correct themselves faster and read with more fluency. The sound phones are a unique yet research based approach to improving reading. After last year, students can use any new technique to improve their reading that they can get! We appreciate you and your donation. Thank you for helping us learn to read!”
