  • Keep Reading! Student-Requests!

    Funded Oct 28, 2019

These books were a phenomenal addition to our classroom. I have not featured all of them in our photo collection, as students currently have them checked out. Finding the right book is hard for many students. Your donation gave our students the opportunity to select their book from a wide range of topics, levels, and genres.

Thank you so much! I know the kids are happy to have received each text. I'll keep you posted in the future as we look for more and more books to add to the classroom.

    Again, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Teichert

  • Continuing Our Love of Reading Widely

    Funded May 16, 2019

Thank you so much for helping with our classroom library last year.

As we continue to build, expand, and diversify the selection, students will enjoy the fruit of our efforts. This year's students have remarked that our library helps them select books that they enjoy, books that fit their personalities, and books that are "just right" for their reading levels.

When middle school students sit down to read a book, they are fully engaged. While I must give credit to their effort and good habits, I must also acknowledge the importance of our reading selection and reading space. Thank you for contributing to this!

My students and I will continue building this library, making it accessible to all students at Nichols who are interested in checking out a book. I've already had some returning students come back to borrow a copy!

Thank you helping build a foundation for reading enthusiasm at Nichols!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Teichert

  • Curious Classroom Library Part II

    Funded Apr 14, 2018

    Thank you!

Your generosity has truly impacted our classroom library, the lives of my students, and it has left a meaningful impression on all of us. Your donations to our classroom library will not only impact current students but also many students to come.

As we expand this classroom library, students will be able to apply the analytical skills we teach them in class, practice their comprehension, and expand their understanding of the character and character development. Most importantly, these books will help future students continue their reading journey.

With this variety of titles, students gain more opportunities to engage with dynamic characters, well-crafted plots, and new and wondrous settings. Thank you for all your help in expanding our classroom library. I hope to reach out again in future projects for the same purpose of encouraging curiosity in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Teichert

  • A Curious Classroom Library

    Funded Mar 22, 2018

Thank you for your generous donations. Through your donations, our classroom community was able to procure these books for our use. These are lovely editions to our collection, and visiting students have already remarked at the impressiveness of these new editions!

In the spring, all students had a chance to access these new titles, and as 7th graders, they are welcome to read these books at any time. Future classes will use these books as well. With that in mind, these texts will help students build a foundation as readers, learners, and academic explorers for years to come.

I particularly want to thank you for the enthusiasm behind your donations. Your quick responses allowed me to use remaining funds towards Part Two of this project. As we move forward building this curious classroom library, I hold your generosity in my memory as a reminder of how the simple act of providing books can change the lives of young readers forever.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Teichert

My kids are always reading. They are eager to read, hungry for knowledge, and curious to expand their understanding of the world around them. When you enter our classroom, you may see students writing creatively on laptops, constructing arguments about current events, or reading works of fiction and poetry. In our sixth grade classroom, curiosity and enthusiasm are just as important as quiet contemplation. So when you walk in, be prepared for any level of discussion, whether it be loud and passionate or quietly insightful. In our classroom, we each play a role and contribute in our own ways.
