Let's Get Back to School!
Funded Oct 4, 2024On behalf of the students in my classes, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation towards the purchase of essential back-to-school supplies. Your support has made a significant difference in equipping our underserved classroom with the tools needed to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
The classroom laminator has allowed us to preserve and reuse teaching materials, such as visual aids, instructional charts, and student work. This not only saves valuable resources but also provides students with durable learning tools they can reference throughout the school year. I love being able to tackle this myself in my classroom - so easy and convenient!
Pencils may seem like a small item, but having an ample supply ensures that no student is without the basic tools needed to participate in daily lessons and activities.
Computer chargers have been invaluable in keeping our devices powered and accessible, enabling students to engage in digital learning activities, research projects, and virtual lessons without disruption. Having extra chargers in the classroom has been incredibly helpful this year!
Your generosity has helped alleviate the financial burden many of our students face and has provided them with a classroom environment where they can focus on learning and thriving.

For Real, This Is a Fairy Tale?!
Funded Oct 3, 2024On behalf of my students, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation towards the purchase of fairytale books for our recent writing unit. Thanks to your support, I was able to equip my students with valuable resources that helped them develop their creative writing skills in new and exciting ways.
As part of our curriculum, we introduced the students to classic fairytales, using the books you helped fund as the foundation. These stories served as a springboard for critical discussions on narrative structure, character development, and theme exploration. Once the students gained a deep understanding of these timeless tales, they were tasked with a creative challenge: to write their own fractured fairytales—stories that twist traditional narratives in fresh and unexpected ways.
The impact of this project was remarkable. You'd be surprised by how many of these kids still love fairytales like these! Many students who had never considered themselves writers found their voices through this exercise. They transformed familiar characters into modern heroes, altered settings to reflect their own experiences, and reimagined plotlines to address contemporary issues. Through the process, they not only honed their writing skills but also gained confidence in their ability to think critically and creatively.
Your support has made a lasting difference in the lives of these young writers, and I'm excited to see how they will continue to develop their skills in the future. Thank you once again for your commitment to fostering creativity and literacy in the classroom.”
