My students are very dedicated to making music despite the challenges of the inner city. My students work hard every day to better themselves and the community through making music. The program consists of over 70 students and many come from very low income homes. While the students come from an area with very little, their academics and test scores are rising at an incredible rate. This has created an overall feeling of excellence that has seeped into all aspects of the school, including this band. My students are very dedicated to proving achievement doesn't have to be tied to location.
