Boost and Restock to Engage and Learn
Funded Mar 31, 2023Thank you for the generosity that funded the project Reboost and Restock for Team Taylor's 1st grade classroom! The supplies and items from this project helped us to finish the year strong with the things we needed! It has been so nice to have the supplies on hand for learning activities and assignments.
Though it is good character building to experience limits in life where we do not always get what we want, it is good to experience some new fresh items too.
Students were very excited to see fresh pencils, new glue, and working dry erase markers in the supply bins. This made our small group lessons so much smoother. Students were not fishing around and trying to share what they needed. We could just get right to learning.
Thank you for making this possible!”

Little Hands on Big Learning
Funded Dec 15, 2022We want to thank you for your generosity. Your donations have helped get our Little Hands on Big Learning in first grade. The students have already been busy using their new lego's for reading skills and science. They have used the lego mats to build words, characters, and settings for stories to bring them to life. They have used the lego's and mats for STEM challenge cards and designing. It has been a joy to see their creative minds working and faces smiling; thanks to you!
Whether it is structured learning or free time they LOVE the lego bins.”

Let Me Wiggle Let Me Focus
Funded Sep 1, 2022We would like to thank you kindly for your generous donation to this project allowing our first-grade students to wiggle while they learn. Allowing students to move and wiggle in a safe way allows them to channel their energy productively as they refine their reading, writing, and arithmetic, skills. The kneeling chairs have been a fan favorite with students AND teachers. They look sharp in the classroom and are sturdy for students to use. The inflatable seats and wiggle pods have also offered great alternatives to traditional seating. We have enjoyed using them and look forward to the focus they have in store for the rest of the year.
Thank you!”

Organized Art Supplies
Funded Aug 29, 2022We want to thank you kindly for the generous donations to help bring organization into our first-grade classroom! Preparing lessons and activities for 24 students is quite the undertaking each day and having to coordinate supplies can be downright stressful. Having matching and stackable bins and containers to keep all of our learning supplies in has already been a lifesaver. It is so easy to allow students to simply grab a tub and get creative with it. Whether it is for a social-emotional reset, where they draw a picture to regulate emotions, or an engaging lesson where they draw a new character and setting for a story, students are able to access their learning supplies easily and put them away independently.
Thank you for helping our classroom run efficiently!”

Team Kindergarten Wants More Science!
Funded Jul 1, 2021The students have been able to explore science with hands on learning and organized manipulatives thanks to you. The full funding of the project means that 2 Kindergarten classes have the science materials they need for the whole school year. This has saved on teacher preparation time and made it easier to carry out fun and engaging science lessons despite all of the challenges we face teaching during a pandemic.
Thank you for participating with your generous donations to make the project "Team Kindergarten Wants More Science" come to life for our students!”

Team First Grade Wants More Science
Funded Apr 1, 2021Thank you so much for fully funding the project for our First Grade Team for science. The science kits being ordered through Mystery Science will offer more exciting learning experiences for our students. They get the opportunity to design, build, and reflect, on their learning by bringing the content to life with their own creations and observations.
Students will be able to use the materials in the kits to continue to expand their learning about physical science, life science, Earth and space science, engineering, and application of science. Many of these areas can be mundane and boring if the students cannot get their hands on the learning they are engaging with but now they get to have something worth remembering.
Thanks to all of the generous donations we are bringing life and fun back into our science lessons.”

Funded Jan 30, 2021The greatest of appreciation goes out to you for helping this project get fully funded! Our students have been so excited to see the hands-on learning materials being added to their bins and rotations. The new books, color-printed manipulatives, and new station activities have made class management and engagement increase greatly.
Students are able to easily identify pictorial representations for their letter-sound activities because they are in color now. They are now more excited to solve the puzzles, match the sounds, and write their answers because there are fun colors and manipulatives to work with. Also, many students have enjoyed reading the new leveled books provided from this project by having the choice in the books they get to read.
On behalf of Team First Grade, I send a hearty thank you to each of you!”

Let Me Wiggle, Let Me Focus!
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for making project, "Let Me Wiggle, Let Me Focus" come to life! The student use the alternative seating choices EVERY DAY! With every transition, they have the opportunity to try a new seat and they LOVE it. My favorite time of the day is when they get to find a smart-spot around the room to read. They tote along their favorite seat to go with them in a quiet spot to read with their book box. Some of them love to sit at a desk with a bar stool to and others take advantage of all the cushion options they have now. Since there are SO many options and alternatives, there is no fuss over "someone" getting a coveted seat. If someone gets the one they had in mind they can simply find another fun seat to use. As students settle into reading time you can hear a pin drop on the floor as they are engaged with their stories in a comfy learning position for their unique self. There is no more being confined to a straight backed chair, with feet flat on the floor, and no movement. And even if they do chose a traditional chair and desk, they have the option to kick and bounce on a resistance band on the chair for some wiggles.
This project has been a hit from the start and I can't wait to see where it goes. The seating was a part of the welcome during family night and as the items continued to trickle in, the students became more and more excited about the many choices they had. I know the students love these seats because they are courteous with them and take care of the items with respect. They take responsibility for putting them away properly to avoid any of them going to the practice zone for a time out.
I will continue to add to this project over time as I learn the "favorites" and as we decide what we need more of. For now, we are thrilled with the generosity of so many donors who helped Team Taylor get the wiggles out and get focused! Thank you!
Best regards,
Team Taylor”
