"Help Me, I Want to Be an Independent Reader!"
Funded Oct 3, 2024First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for donating to this project for my classroom. Books hold a special place in my heart, and I try to expose my students to books on a daily basis - which is why I have worked extremely hard to build my own classroom library for my students. Many of my students don't even own books, so it is crucial that I put books in their hands so that they begin to foster a love of reading. When I introduce new lessons in my class like point of view or characterization, I can utilize my books to serve as model for my students for those skillls. In addition, the books also allow me to teach mini - lessons on various grammar skills as well.
In my classroom, the goal is to read each and every day. The students get independent reading time each and every day in their small group rotation. This time gives the students a choice to read whatever their hearts desires. They have a multitude of books to choose from in the classroom library from a variety of genres. The students love that they have free range to read whatever book they desire. I love when they come to me and tell me something interesting they read in their book. Also, I love when they choose to read a book on their own if they finish their work early in class. Again, I want to thank you for donating to this project and adding more books to my classroom library for my students!”

Funded Jan 19, 2025I must say I am truly overjoyed for the generosity that you all continue to show toward my students and my classroom. I can't wait to share the good news with my students that we have additional supplies for our small group interventions. These supplies are very much needed as I continue to prepare my students for their state test in April. You all are truly a blessing, and I can't thank you enough! Again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my students and my classroom.”

Funded Sep 18, 2024First of all, I want to thank you all for donating to this project to help my classroom. In my classroom, I use technology alot because all of my students have access to a Chromebook in the classroom. I utilize Google Classroom everyday, so the majority of the assignments we do in classroom are online. Some of the assignments have audio like videos, so students have to listen to a video and answer comprehension questions over what they saw. Many of my students cannot afford to bring their own pair of headphones to school everyday, so I wanted to make sure I had headphones readily available for those that needed them. With the headphones, the students can complete those assignments that contain audio material.
In addtion, my students that have learning disabilities love the headphones because they can use them on assignments or an assessment in ELA where they can have the passages and questions read to them. These headphones has really helped them to be successful on their assignments because they can listen to their assignments now. Also the desk dividers helps keep students from cheating on various assessments in the classroom. Also, students love to use them for privacy as well when doing independent work. Again thank you for adding these wonderful resources to my classroom for my students. You all are ROCKSTARS!!”

Funded Sep 18, 2024First of all, I want to thank you for donating to this project for my classroom. The students absolutely loved that this project was funded. Of course when they saw what was inside the boxes, the students went wild! They absolutely loved that the classroom now had snacks. They couldn't wait to gain access to at least one of the snacks in the boxes. My students work hard each and every day, so in the afternoon classes, I notice that many students are drained and have no energy to stay alert or finish assignments. With the addition of these snacks in the classroom, I have seen an increase in the students' energy to stay alert in the class.
In addition, I use the snacks as incentives in the classroom when students play review games for upcoming unit tests. These snacks used as incentives push the students to want to be successful in both ELA and GA Studies. The students want to be successful now in the classroom. These snacks have been a huge motivator for my struggling students because now I see them taking more effort to complete work and more effort in trying to answer questions on assignments. Again I want to thank you all so much for donating to this project. Thank you for helping my students be successful!!!”

Funded Aug 15, 2024First of all, I want to thank you for donating to this project for my classroom. The various supplies that were a part of this project have truly helped my students and myself this school year. Of course everytime a package arrives in class, the students are super excited to open the boxes to see what's inside. In addition, they always want to know who was kind enough to support them in their journey to be successful this school year.
The tools that were a part of this project have been used to help the students set up thier own data folders, so that they can track their data throughout the year. The manilla folders holds the students' graded work as well as all their data from their assessments that they take throughout the year. The lapboards have been a tremendous help when it comes to small group instruction. The students enjoy not having to use paper or a Chromebook sometimes to write down their thoughts - they enjoy using the lapboards to write and erase. The acrylic holder for my dry erase markers has been a huge help. I don't misplace my markers anymore because I have a space on the board to put them and store them. The pens have been wonderful for our writing days because the students can now publish their final pieces in ink. Those were a great addition to our writing station. Let; s not forgot the erasers that my students need desperately everyday. Such a great addition!!
Again, I want to thank you donating to classroom and supporting my project for my students. These tools have definitely helped my students be successful so far this year. Thank you so much for investing in my students and helping them to be successful this school year.”

Funded May 16, 2024Yes, Yes, Yes! Thanks to all of my donors I finally have started to set up gaming corner in my room for my students. I truly believe that students all need a break from working so much in their classes. This is what will help my students to continue to be successful in the classroom. When students finish work early or earn a trip to the gaming corner, the students will have a variety of choices to choose from when they visit the corner. These games are fun, but they are also meant to challenge their brains as well as they decide what moves to make or what words to create in the games.
The students were extremely excited when I unboxed all the games. Many wanted to go ahead and play them at the moment, so the games were a big success. Even as a PBIS incentive, the students look forward to pulling out the games and having some fun and a break from school work. I just want to and have to thank you all again for donating to this project for my classroom. You all are ROCKSTARS!!”

Funded May 10, 2024First of all I want to thank you for donating to my project! My 8th graders truly loved the certificates that they received at their Pledge to Graduate Ceremony. Every year, I plan and organize a Pledge to Graduate Ceremony for the 8th graders; this is also their honors' night as well. I always like to present each and every student with a nice certificate in a nice certificate holder. Every time they see me putting the certificates together, they are always excited and they want to know if they will be receiving a certificate or not. Their faces light up when I tell them that everyone is receiving a certificate as they walk across the stage.
Thank you so much for helping to supply these certificates for my 8th graders. Even the parents are proud that their student received such a nice certificate. It always brings me joy and happiness that I am able to supply these awards to my 8th graders each year because of amazing donors like yourself. Again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to fund this project!!”

Funded Jan 8, 2024First of all, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating to this project for my classroom. These snacks were a true blessing to my classroom. The students were eager to participate in afterschool because they knew they would be rewarded with a delicious snack. The snacks helped the students to restore their energy after spending 8 hours completing work throughout the school day. Many of them were so drained, but the snacks helped them push through the extra two hours in the day for afterschool tutorials.
When the boxes arrived in the classroom, the students could not contain their excitement. Many of them wanted to go ahead and start opening and eating the snacks right then and there! I must say because of these snacks many students actually volunteered themselves to come to afterschool tutorials. Of course, they could not rewarded with a snack until they completed their afterschool work. Again, I want to thank each and every donor for helping bring this project to life! My students and I are completely grateful for you all funding this project. These snacks were a huge hit with my students!!”
