  • Exploring Feelings!

    Funded Feb 13, 2021

I would love to sincerely thank each and everyone of you for contributing to my project exploring feelings, during these hard challenging times of going through Covid-19. I wanted each one of my students to have the necessary supplies to make sure that they stay safe without spreading germs. The children were and are very excited to explore all the new fun, exciting, and educational materials this project funded. It has been such a joy to look at the children's face seeing them enjoy all the materials.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Quianna Turner

  • 2020-2021 School Reentry Supplies

    Funded Aug 7, 2020

Thank each and everyone of you who contributed to these specially made kits for my students to utilize during these hard and confusing times for online distance learning. Have the necessary resources and tools to use is critically important for the success of the students education. I know it helped the parents out a lot not having to worry about how to get what was needed for their child to learn. Not having the burden of asking or trying to figure out what to do to make sure their child had everything needed to begin this uncharted, unfamiliar my world of learning through a computer.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Quianna Turner

  • School Reentry Supplies

    Funded Jul 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your contributions to my kindergarten class. During this time of COVID-19 and kids having school virtually it was very important that each one of my kids received an educational care kit to help them during our distant learning. All of you donors made this possible we greatly appreciate all of the help that you guys gave us. Because of these kids my kids are thriving in their online virtual education.Because of all of you guys they have the necessary tools for math and ELA and any other educational activity that we do. Also the parents are so appreciative because of the kids we serve every kid is not able to get the necessary things they need and this really helped.”

  • New School Year: Print Rich Environment

    Funded Jun 7, 2019

I would like to thank you and tell you how much these materials have meant for the children at Crete Academy. Crete Academy is a Charter school in Los Angeles in an urban area, where we cater majority to homeless children, shelter children, children from traumatic experiences, as well as your everyday typical child.

Because of the population of children we have, as you can expect majority of the student are low in academics and need all the support we can offer them in what ever way we can offer it to them. As a teacher at Crete Academy, i strive my very best to do that for them in a variety of ways.

The project was called, "A print rich environment," I choose this because of the children we service, they need to have a print rich environment that is full of color and resources to help assist them in achieving academic goals and success. Which by the way is helping them.

Thank you so much for the donation, I as well as the children in my class and school appreciated it so much and are on their way to greatness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Quianna Turner

The help and assistance I’m requesting will help foster curious and creative learners. I’m a new first year teacher, teaching 1st grade at a school where a number of my kids don't know when they will get their next meal, or unfortunately even where they will sleep that night. But when they come to school, they know they are safe, loved, and can rely on any teacher to give them a snack when they are hungry. The school I work at was created to give homeless children a fair and just education and we aim to accomplish these goals. Nearly all of the youths attending this school are at risk of staying illiterate. This is why the phonics learning center along with the rare Alonso will help. The teach and store cart is to maximize learning around the classroom. The write and wipe boards help engage the students. The word family books also promote reading.A listening center can encourage these students, who are below their grade level reading, to read books above their reading level and understand them. Reading is a big part of this. My students love to hear stories and are in the process of learning to read. Resources are very limited where I teach, but with the help and support of kind people, I know my students are going to continue on their path to become the most amazing contributors to the community and world around them! The materials I am requesting will help support the development of literacy in my students who face not only academic challenges but homelessness everyday.
