Welcome to the Nonfiction Zone!
Funded Mar 4, 2019Thank you so much for your incredible generosity! I am truly touched that so many of you helped my students.
My students are faced with challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Unfortunately, education is not enforced or encouraged in the homes of many of my students, so they lack the inner motivation to excel in school.
They love reading informational books and have read all the non fiction books we have in our library numerous times. They were so excited to see the delivery of our new resources. Once the books came out of the box, their faces lit up with excitement. They could not wait to get their hands on them! Many of the new purchases also came with CDs of the books being read aloud. This will help my students, who are significantly below grade level, to enjoy and learn all about these new, engaging informational topics.
I can not thank you all enough! Your donation and care and concern for my students means the world to me!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hymowitz

My students are faced with challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Despite these obstacles, I try to keep things as engaging and as fun as possible. My classroom is a mix of 30 students who have special needs, struggle with behavior issues and are learning how to speak English. Unfortunately, education is not enforced or encouraged in the homes of many of my students, so they lack the inner motivation to excel in school.
When the delivery of new books arrived in our classroom, my students were so excited. They couldn't wait to get the books in their hands. As each book was taken out of the wrapper, their eyes lit up. It was amazing to see them so eager to start reading each one. Once everyone had a new book in their hands, the room became quiet, which NEVER happens. Its moments like this that remind me why I truly love what I do.
Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hymowitz
