• Learning Without a Pencil is Pointless!

  Every time I think of pencils I think of a poem. 'Cause I Ain't Got a Pencil by Joshua T. Dickerson.

  I woke myself up

  Because we ain't got an alarm clock

  Dug in the dirty clothes basket,

  Cause ain't nobody washed my uniform

  Brushed my hair and teeth in the dark,

  Cause the lights ain't on

  Even got my baby sister ready,

  Cause my mama wasn't home.

  Got us both to school on time,

  To eat us a good breakfast.

  Then when I got to class the teacher fussed

  Cause I ain't got no pencil.

  In his poem, "Cause I Ain't Got a Pencil," Joshua T. Dickerson describes some of the daily challenges children face through no fault of their own. With your generous donation we are able to fix just one challenge our kids face. Thank you so much!”

• Becoming Book Worms

  We cannot thank you enough for donating to our classroom! You have no idea how much of a dire need lower level books were. We can now work with our lower leveled students and help them push themselves to grade level. When the package came, I wish you could see the look on their faces. They were beaming at the new books. Thank you so much for giving our kids these! They will be used everyday! When students are able to read on their levels it helps them become more fluent and move levels faster. With these right on level books they are able to use them in school and at home. You are amazing!”

Social Emotional Learning is so important, especially this year, and having these materials can support that. My students were so excited when they found out! Their faces lit up! • An iPad Supports Engagement and Learning

  Our class and I cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity. We have already started using the IPad and case! The kids are so excited when they see their work projected and their points on classdojo increasing. There is no better feeling than making a student smile even if its from far away. They light up every time they hear the ding of the classdojo points go off on the screen. We have already seen an improvement in participation and attendance with this addition. We cannot thank you enough! During these difficult times it was hard to get the kids online and active. Now they are up and ready to go for class. Thank you so much!”
