  • Libros [Books] for Literacy

    Funded Oct 14, 2022

Thank you for understanding the importance of literacy in any language, and to contribute to making Spanish-language books available to my English-language learners.

Having these diverse titles in young adult literature and in the first language of the majority of our students helps them to feel seen and recognized. This project helped to fill our book shelves with titles and work that interested and engaged the students in multi-linguistic literacy.

Having donors, like you, who recognize that literacy come in a variety of formats makes a difference to offer students titles and books that interest them and advance the concept of reading for enjoyment.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G

This classroom project was brought to life by The Montgomery Family Fund and 2 other donors.
  • Resources for English-Language Learner's Success in AP English

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you for providing these resources to help guide our student's learning. These helped to give the students a visual media to study and practice throughout the year in preparation for the AP exam.

These made the difference in helping students to understand the magnitude and scope of the college-level AP course. At the same time breaking down the information into more accessible chunks to help them study and review the materials.

Your generosity and support helps to make a difference in affording students quality resources and materials with which to guide their learning path.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G

This classroom project was brought to life by The SONIC Foundation and 4 other donors.
  • Library Scanners & Processing Resources

    Funded Oct 13, 2022

Thank you very much for getting these resources to our campus. Thanks to you and with the help of the students, we were able to get our large influx of boxes of books processed, barcoded, and scanned into our library management system. Instead of having to enter barcode numbers in manually we were able to scan the books with codes and get them on the shelves to circulate out to students.

Needless to say, the students were eager and happy to be able to read and checkout books from their new library.

Thank you, again, for your time and generosity in choosing to support this project to help out our community of scholars and eager-readers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G

This classroom project was brought to life by Houston Endowment and one other donor.

Thank you very much for the generosity in affording these supplementary materials and resources to my students.

Be able to have a variety of styles, voices, perspectives, and formats in guiding student learning is helpful to meet students at their greatest point-of-need.

  • Financial Literacy for Immigrant Students

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

Thank you for choosing to support our financial literacy project that got students resources to think about their spending habits, and also planning for their future financial goals.

Recognizing the importance of financial literacy is often overlooked as a significant component of educating 21st century learners. Keeping apace with the emergent investment and financial opportunities, and balancing them with daily fiscal needs can be overwhelming to young people.

Thanks for providing these resources to help students learn about their own finances, and in some cases those of their families too, and be better prepared to handle and grow their financial well-being into adulthood.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G

This classroom project was brought to life by The Montgomery Family Fund and 2 other donors.
  • ESports for Enhancing Learning

    Funded Oct 7, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting the need for diverse, 21st century enrichment activities, such as esports, which is more popular than anticipated with our students.

Some students were excited to get to play on a gaming console for the first time ever, and some students were happy to share their own knowledge and expertise with other students about the games they have played for years.

We look forward to continue expand our game selection to get students involved in and cultivate their gaming interests beyond school.

As ever, your belief and support of less-than-conventional projects, such as this one, is endearing and appreciated as we continue to spur on learning in all of its forms.”

Thank you for adding some vibrant and engaging learning materials to help our students better understand and learn about the underlying principles and elements of graphic design.

These books provided students with straightforward explanations of design elements like typography, color, layout, and other concepts. In addition to direct language, the pages with infused with beautiful, relevant examples that were easily understood and visually appealing.

Your support in recognition of the need for engaging learning materials helps make education for helpful, relevant, and salient to students. Thanks, again and as ever, for your help and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G

Our classroom takes students on voyages to distant lands, foreign cultures, and historical events. The overall goal is to create an increasing number of culturally literate, global citizens. The broadness of our requisite educational concepts affords a great flexibility in how we may engage our students in their learning experience. We promote greater individual autonomy, and differentiated experiences that students can take part in and ownership of their academics and personal identity. Basic and perpetual resources used include: colored pencils for maps and visualization of cultural events. Markers for creating banners and posters. A roll of butcher paper for them to unroll their creative streak outside of a box of printer paper. Help unleash the creative potential of social studies in funding this endeavor, and providing more of a hands-on approach to student-centered learning.
