  • Changing Hearts Through Yoga & Social Emotional Learning

    Funded Jun 10, 2021

I want to thank everyone that believed in me and my teaching. I am overwhelmed by all the information I learned and am so excited to implement these practices into my teaching. The yoga and meditation training has been life changing. I feel like I am going into this school year mentally healthy and excited to see success this upcoming year. I learned SEL and Yoga procedures that I will be able to incorporate into my classroom on day 1. I know that teaching these life skills to my students will help them be successful in school and in life.”

    With gratitude,

  • Supplies for All

    Funded Sep 5, 2018

I am so happy I was able to get the request for seat sacks funded. Our classroom was in need of organization and structure. These seat sacks are just what we needed for my students to keep their individual supplies neat and easily assessable.

The students were so excited to see the new seat sacks when they walked into the classroom. They were thrilled to see that they each have a seat sacks of their very own. I have noticed the students are taking great pride in their materials and our classroom is much cleaner.

I am looking forward to continue to help the students take responsibility for their classroom and learning supplies. It is a beautiful thing when students have taken ownership of their classroom and their learning.”

  • A Mailbox of Their Very Own

    Funded Aug 11, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom. We are using the mailboxes and plastic book bins everyday! They are helping us be more successful and organized each week. The students were so excited to see these new additions in the classroom. We were having a difficult time keeping all the student; s resources easily accessible and organized. These new additions have been a game changer.

The students are using the book bins to help organize all their ELA materials and keep the books in good condition. The students love their individual bins and proudly keep their supplies neat and clean.

The mailboxes are used to hold all the classwork the students want to take home to show their parents. The mailbox keeps all the class work the students so hard on nice and smooth so they can show off their work to their parents!

We are looking forward to more organization in our classroom which will helped us save valuable learning time.”

  • Productive Partners Learning Centers

    Funded Feb 2, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity. I am overfilled with joy from the love and support I received for my classroom. My students were so excited when they received their packages and got to open all their boxes, they grinned from ear to ear. It filled my heart to see my students so excited about learning and their new tools.

I was able to create learning baskets to enrich their learning in all subject areas. I made sight word learning baskets, addition and subtraction baskets, writing baskets, and even science baskets. My students have so much fun with their learning baskets they forget they are learning! They best part is they want to do learning baskets all the time, even when it is play time!

The supplies have provided me the opportunity to get away from boring worksheets and create games that supplement my instruction. My students are able to practice their skills in a fun, hands-on approach to learning.

Thank you so much for supporting our future leaders.”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Billings

Five and six-year-olds are natural, enthusiastic learners. Their impulse to ask questions, to investigate, and to explore, examine, and experiment, comes from a burning curiosity about the world and a desire to understand things. They learn, grow, and internalize through interactive experiences with each other, with adults, and with real materials that require all of their senses. For this reason, I spend careful time planning diverse learning centers, with open-ended activities and hands-on materials, to use throughout the year. The clipboards, stamp and ink pads, and white board crayons will give my students the opportunity to get out of their desks and collaborate with their peers while they learn through hands-on activities. The clipboards give the students the ability to write anywhere, they don't have to be confined to a desk. Learning centers add fun to the classroom and help the children enjoy learning. Kindergarten was created as a place to emphasize the development of the whole child. Now, however, emphasis has shifted so much to academic development, at the expense of emotional, social, and physical development, that we often forget how important these are. Learning centers, can be a perfect place to promote these areas of growth in young children. The card stock, laminate, and Velcro with be used to create learning centers that can be used and loved over and over again.
