I have many students that have a very hard time with focus, and being still. They have a need for constant movement and fidgeting. They are eager to learn, but fight focusing on work when they are just trying to keep themselves where they need to be.
There are times that we are required to sit at our desk and use the computer. The wiggly cushions, chair bands, and wobble balls would be so helpful for my students that have a hard time sitting still. The sensory feel and movement gives them a fidgeting motion that allows them to release energy while they continue working without losing focus.
Whenever possible I allow my students to get a clipboard and sit around the room on the floor. They also sit at my kitchen table/desk to work.
Just being in a different spot is like a reward to them. They would love the chair/desk floor combination to be able to move to different spots around the room. This would also help my students that need to remove from the group, because of overstimulation, and help with social distancing.
