The more my students read about math and how it is used in everyday life, the more engaged they will be. The magazine focuses on subjects that are meaningful to middle school children The academic language used in the magazine coincides with what I teach my students day to day in 7th and 8th grade math. The layout of the material makes it much more interesting than that of a textbook as it reads more like a story. What student wouldn't be interested in the how-to of investments if it was something they could really be involved in as an early teen?
