  • 3rd Graders Love Dyamonde Daniel Books!

    Funded Jul 27, 2021

I want to say thank you so much for supporting this project. I am so happy to start the year off putting books into the hands of students! With students learning remotely for almost two years, this is just what they need!

The students LOVE that they have another book from the Dyamonde Daniels series. From the pictures, you can see their excitement during the unboxing. There was so much joy. We read the first book and they cannot wait to read this one.

Thank you for supporting education. A book can change a life forever. Your donation has changed the lives of 25 third graders. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tashom

  • 3rd Graders LOVE Dyamonde Daniels Books 2!

    Funded Dec 11, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation! The students were so happy to receive their book.

Although students in my class are engaged in virtual learning, I wanted to give every student the experience of being able to hold an actual book in their hands.

In the beginning of the school year, we read a Dyamonde Daniels book and students loved it. Now, with this Dyamonde Daniels book students have been engaged in character studies. Students are learning about characters, character traits, feelings, major conflicts, and overall change throughout the course of the story.

The students and I are extremely grateful for your generosity.”

  • 3rd Grade All the Way!

    Funded Aug 17, 2020

Although I have been an educator for years, this school year is my first year in grade three. This year, being very different from all the others, it is important having materials on hand at home.

I would like to thank you dearly because the materials you have donated have been such a big help. The resources purchased are used on a weekly basis for small group, independent assignments, or guided practice for learning in math, reading, or writing. Although working remotely, once a month the students and I are still able to engage in a few rounds of bingo. Students have a blast and it brings great joy to see their excitement.

Thank you! Thank you for supporting education! Thank you for helping make a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tashom

  • Distance Learning With Ease!

    Funded May 1, 2020

I want to extend my gratitude to you all for your donation. Your contribution has allowed distance learning during a pandemic to run smoothly.

The item donated was a multifunction printer with faxing and scanning capabilities. Technology in education is super important and this multifunction printer has been a life saver. It has allowed me to print items such as worksheets and display it under the document camera, allowing me to model work to the students. It also has allowed me to print shared/scanned resources. In addition, it has allowed me to share resources I have at home such as books with my colleagues. This technology tool has allowed me to teach from home with ease and I cannot thank you enough.

Thank you for your support! Thank you for supporting education!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tashom

  • Prepared to Learn During a Pandemic

    Funded Aug 17, 2020

I want to extend my gratitude to you all for your donations. Your contributions to ensure students have the materials they need during a pandemic is very much appreciated.

The items donated in this project were: Whiteboards, dry erase markers, dry erase erasers, pencils, sharpeners, zipper pouches, and erasers. Most, if not all of these resources, are used on a daily basis. Throughout the virtual school day students are required to work in pencil and house their items in the zipper pouch. The dry erase board has been widely used during math and makes it very easy for teachers to see student responses.

Thank you for your support! Thank you for supporting education!”

    With gratitude,

  • Math Games are the Way to Learn!

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Thank you for helping this project get funded. When the box arrived, students were overjoyed to know the items in it was for them and their learning. We did some guessing and some kids guessed that the items would help them with math.

Students are able to use these learning materials on Fun Fridays. Fridays we break up into groups or partnerships and we use puzzles and games to reiterate and practice the things we have learned. Students LOVE this time and are truly engaged in the activities.

Thank you again for your generosity. Your bigheartedness will positively affect the future leaders of tomorrow. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

  • Classroom Cozy Corner

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Thank you so much for helping this project get funded!

When the huge boxes arrived, the students and I were excited. As I took the items out of the boxes, students could not believe their eyes, a couch! The shrieks and chatter of excitement was priceless. Students could not wait to sit on the bean bags and the couch, and each person got a chance to test it out.

The cozy corner is used on a daily basis. Students are able to go there to calm down, have some alone time when needed, or to simply read books or complete work independently or in a partnership.

This space in the room is a place where students LOVE to go. I get so happy when I see students curl up on the rug and get lost in a good book.

Thank you for assisting me in providing a cozy corner for my students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Welcome to First Grade

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

When the box arrived, the student's eyes were big, and faces were filled with wonder as they were curious about what items were in the box. As I unpacked the items, I could hear them exclaim about how they couldn't wait to use the items, and some were even claiming their favorite scissor color.

The items funded in this project are used on a daily (pencils and book baggies) to weekly basis (scissors and glue). Students have learned how to use the items with care and responsibility so they can last, and thus far I am proud of their ability to meet expectations.

Thank you for your generosity and helping this project get funded. It means a lot to me and it means a lot to the students as well.”

  • There's ALWAYS a Time for Kids!

    Funded Dec 30, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations. I am so happy to have had this project funded. Time for Kids is a helpful resource that the students LOVE!

On a weekly basis students are able to engage in stories within the Time for Kids magazine on various topics (i.e., authors, animals, politics, technology, inventions, and much more).

It not only provides them with a short read, but also provides activities for them to complete.

This resource is amazing because it goes across the curriculum, providing students with the ability to work on their reading skills and abilities, but also provides them with information in mathematics, social studies, and science.

    Thank you for supporting education.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tashom

I work at a K-8 Title I school located in the heart of Harlem. Our vibrant neighborhood is filled with a rich history. At our school, most students receive free or reduced lunch. Although not rich in resources, my first graders are the most amazing, passionate, curious thinkers and explorers. They are learning and growing every day. They enjoy coming to school and love all subjects. They motivate me and enrich my passion for teaching.
