Building Fun with Magna-Tiles
Funded Aug 22, 2024Thank you for your generous donation. I ordered the magnatiles for my art room. My students were very excited to open the box with magnatiles. They are free to use them when they are done with their art projects.
I added some dragons to the tub of magnatiles and they love building enclosures for them. Not only are they building with the tiles but my students have discoved they can blend colors by holding two or more tiles together and looking through them. Magnatiles are a favorite with all of my students K-5.
Again that you for your support.”

Art Parties Bring Engineering and 3-D Design To Art
Funded Mar 24, 2024Thank you so much for your generosity. Thanks to your donations, I was able to purchase a variety of art materials for my students to use during their art parties. These parties are offered 3 times a year. Art Parties are earned by showing SOLE-respect for self, others, learning and the art room environment.
Opening the boxes when they arrived was like Christmas morning for my students. They were so excited. We passes the boxes around, shook them and tried to guess what was in each package.
During this time I bring out the glue guns and supplies that are only available for art parties. This is something that my students look forward to. They love having the time to develop their own ideas and create with different supplies.
Thank you again,

Sock Puppets Combine Art And Literacy
Funded Mar 25, 2024Thank you so much for your support on this project. When I was a child sock puppets were a favorite of mine and I love sharing them with my students. My students were so excited when they walked into the art to see the supplies for making the sock puppets. The characters they created were precious.
I emailed all of the teachers to let them know we would be making sock puppets in art. Teachers were then able to plan activities using them. I heard from one teacher who told me her class did a puppet show for their kindergarten study buddies. Another teacher told me that one of her reluctant readers read to his sock puppet. Another had her class use the puppets to perform stories they had written.
Thank you again for providing the supplies to make this project come to life.”

Reading Builds Community, Unity and Inclusivity
Funded Feb 23, 2021Thank you for funding our art room library. My students and I are thrilled and honored to have received full funding for my project proposal. I love to begin each class with a story and my students arrive in the art room eager to see which book I will be sharing with them.
The books purchased with the funds, celebrate artists of color. I can see the pride in my students faces when they see someone who looks like them in the books we read. My students love to listen to stories and are inspired by the illustrations. Some of my older students have expressed interest in learning more about some of the artist and have pursued this on their own time.
It is heart warming to see others share my passion for educating children and creating meaningful experiences for them.”

Flexible Curriculum Reaches All Students
Funded May 29, 2020Thank you for helping bring the Art of Educations FLEX curriculum to my art program. It is an amazing comprehensive art curriculum with great projects, artist bios, videos and assessments built into each lesson. Each month new lessons are released that include new artists, current events, and cross-curricular connections.
Teaching virtually isn't easy, having this wonderful curriculum to share with my students makes it a little easier. Th FLEX curriculum is incredibly versatile and designed to integrate quickly and easily with the learning management system my school uses. As I teach my students about the elements of art, the FLEX curriculum has everything I need to share with my students to give them a well rounded art experience.”

Funded Dec 16, 2019My students flipped when the box with the Artie 3000 robots arrived. They couldn't wait to get their hands on them. They were surprised to find out that they had to do the programming to make the robots work. I decided to have my 5th graders try them out before introducing them to the rest of the students.
I broke the students into small groups, gave them a chrome book and a robot and got them started. I have never seen my students so engaged. I was amazed at how well they worked together in their small groups. They quickly figured out how to write the codes needed for the Artie 3000's to draw different things. We put out big rolls of paper and set the robots down to draw. The kids were so proud of their accomplishment. Afterwards we did a gallery walk around the room to see each others drawings. It was an awesome day! Unfortunately I was so engaged that very few pictures were taken.
Thank you so much for providing this opportunity for my students. Projects like this have given them a first hand look at how art and technology can work together.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018It is so gratifying to see others who share my passion for education. Thank you so much for providing my students with the opportunity to explore their creativity using the 3doodles.
When the 3doodles arrived it was like Christmas all over again. The smiles on my students faces were just precious. They were so excited to get started with them, they could hardly wait for the pens to charge. Their drawings are literally jumping off the page as they use the 3doodle pens to translate them into 3-D.”

Funded Dec 29, 2017I am thrilled and honored to have received full funding for my project proposal. It is heart warming to see others share my passion for educating children and creating meaningful experiences for them.
I find stories to be amazing teaching tools in the art room. I am using my new picture books to draw students in and as a way to introduce art history in a kid friendly way. A story is going to stick with students longer than a list of facts, because it's easier to remember and appeals to them on a positive, emotional level.
My goal is to share a love of books and reading with something I am passionate about (Art). Once read, the books go into a library I've created for students to use when they are finished with their artwork. They love re-reading the stories and looking at the pictures. The books serve as inspiration for student artwork while reinforcing the literacy skills my students are learning in their classrooms.
Thank you for helping to fund my new library.”

Eco Friendly Art + Technology = Boogie Board eWriters
Funded Oct 9, 2015I am truly grateful for your heartfelt donations. In these difficult economic times it is gratifying to know that there are still people like you who support our schools and the education of our young.
My students were thrilled to receive the Boogie Board ewriters. We have used them to practice new drawing techniques and to play drawing games. Even my reluctant drawers love sketching on them. Many of my students went home so excited about them that I had parents calling asking about the boogie boards and where to get them.
Thank you for reaching out and inspiring my students to help others and be the best that they can be.”

Funded May 15, 2015Thank you for providing the opportunity to take the class SHOWING STUDENT GROWTH IN ART. As a teacher I want all of my students to grow in their art skills and knowledge. Tracking and proving this can be tricky for performance-based subjects like art.
During the course of the class, I developed a student growth plan, created a timeline to keep track of my plan, and learned to be more organized and streamlined while compiling data.
This class was extremely relevant and full of information that I will use immediately in my teaching. It was a valuable experience to be put into contact with other art teachers and to hear what common issues, challenges, and experiences we all have. I came away with the knowledge I needed to present to my administrator. Rather than just being a random class to fulfill staff development, this class provided information I will use.”
