Part of our fourth grade science standards include not only learning about the scientific method, but actually participating in a hands-on project. My students have been learning about asking questions, making inferences, forming a hypothesis, conducting an investigation, and making conclusions about the collected data. None of this will be relevant to my students unless they can actually do an experiment of their own. Hands-on science is the way to capture our students' imaginations. When students take ownership of their learning, then real learning takes place. Without science project boards and letters, my students will not be able to communicate their ideas and participate in our science fair. Science, technology, engineering, and math objectives are interwoven into the fabric of this project. Thank you in advance for donating to this project!
