Growing plants from seed to harvest in the raised garden beds is a valuable skill and will benefit the students physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There will be a new interest in trying new and healthy foods because they will be invested in the harvest. Children who connect with nature and have their hands in the dirt become grounded and centered. The project will also increase the health of children as they grow their own food. Watching the entire cycle from food to composting in the worm factory to planting to harvesting will be an amazing experience that many of them have not witnessed close up before.
