I am a new part of a growing trend in Utah, as a first grade teacher in the Dual Immersion program. My students spend half of their day with me in English, learning the Language Arts Common Core standards, and the other half of the day with another teacher (native to Hong Kong) learning Mandarin Chinese. My students are highly motivated to learn and love to engage in a variety of activities that help them to grow as readers and writers. I enjoy tapping into all of my first graders learning styles as a I teach, and even 13 years into teaching, am always looking for new, fun and engaging ways to integrate subject areas!
