  • Classroom Tools 2020

    Funded Jul 14, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom project. This year has been unpredictable, to say the least. We have used the colored tape to mark off places to stand in the hallway, and while waiting in line for the bathroom to keep students safely 6ft apart. I have used the tape in my room to mark the chairs that are 6 ft apart as well so smaller groups know which chairs to use.

We have used the pencil dispenser so that students are not touching multiple pencils in a cup. Your donation also helped purchase enough pencils, that if a student needs one, they can just keep it instead of returning it.

Many of my students have dyslexia and hearing the audio of a story helps tremendously. Having good headphones allows them to do this with ease, even if they forget their personal set. The Sony ones we received are easy to sanitize after wearing them.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarver

  • Seated in Success

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

When the students saw the giant boxes delivered to the classroom they were so excited! When we opened them they couldn't wait to use the bean bags.

Our classroom was made to be a computer lab, so we needed a comfortable space to read in that would help students learn to enjoy reading. Once we found a spot, we needed comfortable seating.

These bean bags have made our reading lounge a "cool" place to go. We take turns for who gets to use them and the students that get them are always so excited. Thank you for helping my students enjoy reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarver

  • Rockin' Reading Lounge

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

My students were so excited when they saw the giant boxes delivered to our classroom. They were eagerly waiting to see inside, and once they finally did they were even more excited!

My classroom was designed to be a computer lab. So we needed a comfortable space to read and truly enjoy reading. We were able to borrow a space but didn't have any comfortable seating. That is were these chairs come in. We take turns using the chairs in our reading lounge and the students love them.

We are currently using them on a rotation basis and hope to get more seating soon. These have helped make reading "cool" and exciting for my students! Thank you!”

  • Sweeten up School!

    Funded Oct 16, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to my project. We are truly blessed by your generosity. My middle schoolers are not easily motivated, but candy is one way to do this. Students get so excited to answer questions and do well on assignments when they know there is a treat involved. This is understandable because as adults we get a reward (check) for our work.

We are in a high poverty area so many students don't get treats often unless they are from the school, so they are thrilled that they not only get candy but it is good candy! Thank you again for all you do for public schools!”

  • Hygiene Help for Hope!

    Funded Apr 2, 2017

I want to thank you for your help getting this grant funded!

Many of my students don't get basic hygiene items that we take for granted. It is hard to focus on school work when you know that you may smell, or you just don't feel clean.

Some of these items are for students entering puberty that may need it for "accidents" that can be truly embarrassing if you don't have what you need.

These items will give my students the confidence they need to focus on school, so they can succeed.

    Thank you again!”

  • Project-Based Learning Rocks and "Rolls"

    Funded Oct 10, 2016

Your generous donation has helped provide our classroom with a small rolling whiteboard and 4 chairs. My students in tutoring utilize these often with small group work. Today they talked about the main words associated with argumentative writing.

My students were really glad to have a whiteboard for announcements. Previously we had a tiny little stand that I had them written on and they could barely read it across the room. Now all students can see it each day when they come in.

My students will be able to use these daily and roll it to different places in the room. Extra chairs help for group work and when they come up for conferencing . Thank you again for your help!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarver

  • Bring on the Technology!

    Funded Apr 11, 2016

Your donation will provide my students with valuable learning experiences using technology. Students will be able to type reports and papers, as well as create presentations for their classmates. Students will be able to conduct research to write expository essays as well as be able to watch videos to support their research. They can also play educational games on the Internet and learn how to use programs that they might need at their future profession. Students in robotics will be able to use the computers to program robots for competitions. We have already made some great memories this school year thanks to you!”

  • Shopping Our Way to Success

    Funded Oct 19, 2015

Your donation has helped my students learn economy basics through the fun setting of a classroom store. They are earning money through classroom jobs such as emptying the pencil sharpener, straightening book shelves, and cleaning our tables. Students also earn money for good attendance. I have student bankers that count out student salaries and pay them on Fridays. They are able to shop at our store every other week. I have merchants who help set up the store, take payments, and give change back to customers. Students have even budgeted and saved for pricier items. Your donation has given my students a valuable learning experience. We have already made some great memories this school year thanks to you!”

The majority of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Therefore most students don't have the available technology needed to complete assignments much less have knowledge about current technology or how to use it. For most students in our area, school is where they experience many "firsts" or new things. Some students have never even traveled more than 30 minutes from home.
