Writing Rocks!
Funded Jul 5, 2016Dear Donors,
On behalf of myself and my classroom, we would like to thank everyone who donated to this project. Having this project funded has helped my class tremendously. The donations that you all have provided to my project enabled my students to all receive one writing journal each.
These journals are being used daily in my classroom. During centers, many students complete a writing center. During this writing center, my students take their journals and write freely. These journals have given my students a chance to express themselves, get creative, and continuously work on their writing. They are becoming better writers each and every day.
When my students first received their journals they were so excited. They were excited to have their very own writing book that they could write in. Not only were they excited to get to writing but the journals also provide the students with a space to illustrate their writing. The students love to draw and get creative. It really helps their writing.
Thank you all again for your generous donations. The students really appreciate it!
Thank You,
Ms. Grant and Room 205”

Funded Oct 23, 2015Thank you to everyone who has given donations to my project. Your donations have helped me and my students in my classroom. The students really enjoy being able to use the technology.
The ipad allows the students to work on an individual basis. It allows the students to improve in reading and in math. The students enjoy the technology because they are used to having it at home. We really do appreciate how lucky we got with this project.
We have also used the ink to print different material for students. It is always nice to have things printed in color. The students get more excited with the color prints. The post it note chart paper also helps in our classroom as well. The chart papers allows me to make charts for my students to use as learning resources. We hang our charts around the room so that the students can refer back to them.
Thank you again to everyone who has donated to this project. We really appreciated everything we received and we put the materials to great use!”

This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 9 other donors.Teaching With Technology!
Funded Jul 1, 2015Thank you all for all of your donations! My students were really surprised to see that our classroom got their very own ipad. The students are so excited to begin use the new tool. The students get so excited when it is their chance to get on the ipad, the smile on their face is unexplainable!
In the classroom the students are using the ipad during center time. The students use the ipad to work on their reading and math skills. I have downloaded applications that we all use school wide and the students work on those applications. The students also get to use the ipad as a reward as well. So it is used for both education and fun at times.
The ipad has helped boost student learning in many ways. One way is that fact that students are more interested in learning because they get to use the ipad. They really enjoy the technology. Another way it boost learning is the fact that the students already have technology like this at home so they know how to use it. They are comfortable using it. They actually show me some new things with the ipad. They really do enjoy having this wonderful technology in our classroom.”

Non-Fiction News!
Funded Dec 14, 2014Thank you all so much for your kind donations to this donors choose project. When we received the scholastic news readers the students were very excited. Not only did they have have colored magazines to read but there are so many cool things we get to do with this subscription online. The students take very good care of these magazines because they like having access to them in our classroom when they are at the library center.
In our classroom we use the scholastic readers as a way to end our day. We choose what reader we want to read and we read it aloud. After we read it aloud I also play whatever video that is associated with it online. The students are very engaged. After reading and viewing the video the students get a chance to chat with their partner to discuss something they learned from the issue. Once that is complete students always answer an open ended question pertaining to the issue.
This project has helped my teaching and my students learning because it has given them an opportunity to have another resource of reading in our classroom. We already have a ton of fiction stories in our classroom, so this project enabled my students to have hands on non-fiction materials. We appreciate this opportunity!”

Supplies Supplies Supplies!!!!
Funded Aug 20, 2014Thank you to everyone who has helped with donations for this project for this school year. The students were able to receive supplies that definitely helped this year. My students received new crayons, new markers, headphones, and paper. All of which are things that they needed.
My students use these resources on a daily basis. There are times many of the students come to school without but they did not have to worry this year. I was able to provide my students with the materials they needed to learn, thanks to this project. The students love to use the new markers when completing projects. They enjoy used crayons that are not broke. The headphones helping with the listening center and also with the computers in our classroom.
The students not only use the materials but they respect them. They understand that our class received these donations and they are very thankful for everything. This has definitely helped relieve some stress off of me as the teacher because I did not have to go out and purchase all of these materials on my own. Now I can come to work and enjoy my class knowing they have the materials they need to learn. The paper is a major help because it helps us make copies of materials we need for the lessons we are completing in our classroom.”

Get Us Organized!
Funded Aug 4, 2014Thank you all so much for your kind donations. The donations have helped to fund another donors choose which in turn helped my students. The students are so very thankful for the great materials that they have received.
For this project, my students received stackable draws. We currently have four towers with ten draws each. The students are using this resource to help them stay organized in the classroom. In the draw the students place extra materials that they bring to school. It also holds their data folders, works folders, progress folders. The students are able to use their draw at any point in the day.
When we received the draws in our classroom the students were all in shock. They were in shock because they each had their own private space. They love the fact that they have a place to store their materials and it is there space. They do not have to share with anyone else. This definitely helped them to keep their things organized. It helps us to keep a neat clean classroom which helps keep our learning neat and able to focus.”

Silly Second Graders Supplies Specialists
Funded Nov 8, 2013Thank you all so much for donating to this wonderful project for my 2nd grade class! The students were all so excited when they heard the news about our project being funded. They were even more excited when they actually seen the materials come into the classroom. You may think that it is kind of crazy for kids to get excited about copy paper but they know how much we use it in our classroom and they were glad to see it come in. The students were happy to have new crayons for the entire class as well. Many mentioned how "fresh" the crayons were.
In the classroom and outside of the classroom, the materials and resources are being used by all. Within the classroom the copy paper is used to reproduce different work and projects for the students to complete. Due to not having enough workbooks, I am able to make copies for the students. The colored paper and crayons are also being used for different projects and activities in our classroom as well. As you can see in our pictures, we were able to create Addition Turkey's with our colored paper and crayons. Outside of the classroom our copy paper is being used to print pictures of our students and other work to hang along the bulletin boards through out our hallways. The colored paper is also being used to create awards for "Student of the Month" and "Perfect Attendance."
Within the classroom and outside of the classroom, the materials definitely helped me as the teacher and my students. The materials enabled my students to have the materials for learning that our school cannot afford. The materials allowed the students to complete projects with a purpose. Lastly, the materials enabled me as the teacher to continue helping my students succeed in my classroom. Once again thank you all for donating to this project. For many of you that know me, know that I give my all as a teacher and I appreciate the help!”

Mrs. Williams
