Living in a high poverty area with many students speaking Spanish as their primary language and receiving free and reduced lunch, makes it difficult for my students to maximize their learning outside of the classroom. Many of my students do not have access to award-winning authors and rich text at home to allow them to "dive into a book" and enhance and extend the concepts gained each day in my classroom. With that being said, my students are always excited about learning new things in Language Arts especially when they are able to personally connect to a text! My students love to maximize their learning!

About my class
