Our students shouldn't struggle simply because they cannot afford the tools they need in order to be successful in math class. Over 78% of our school is poverty level and many do not have the means to bring paper and pencil to school, much less electronics. Students need to be able to use calculators during class so they will be knowledgeable when state standardized tests are given in the spring so they will need the calculators now so that we can learn how to use the tool to help us with our math class. I want all my students to have equal opportunities in my classroom.
