Using flexible seating in the classroom gives the students a choice on how they best work and learn. They are able to move about and choose a space and a seat that best suits them. They may want to sit on the floor with a lap desk, or maybe they learn best by sitting at a table but need to chance to wiggle around while working. Using the ball or the wiggle chairs they would be able to do this. They may choose to sit at the low table and sit on a cushion or the higher table and use a stool or a wiggle stool. The opportunity to make these choices help them to choose what works best for them and in turn they can focus better and learning improves. It also let them take charge and ownership of their learning. Everybody needs the opportunity to make choices, even children.
