Let's Get Comfy!
Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. We love our new carpet! All of the children were so excited when they saw the turtles and lily pads that are on it. There are enough spaces on this rug to spread my students out. Everyone has a space and no one is bothering their neighbor. It has really added warmth and coziness to my classroom. We are working hard to keep the rug clean and bright!
We sit on our carpet daily for learning and play. We start our day there with a morning meeting, have whole group learning, and many of the children choose to bring toys there during our play time. It is a place for us to enjoy learning and to relax during our day!
I want to thank you again for all your continued support with projects for my classroom. It touches my heart that you support the students in Boscobel.”

Funded Jun 20, 2022Thank you for supporting our classroom with the purchase of a light table and manipulatives to use with it. We use our light table during math stations, reading stations, and our play to learn time.
The children were so excited when we opened up the boxes and when they saw the table light up for the first time.
The have used the table to practice sorting letters and building letters. They have also used it to build pictures with pattern blocks.
We will be continuing to use the table to build words and sentences during reading stations. We will also be using it to practice addition and subtraction as the year goes on.
Thank you again for your support and helping make learning engaging in our kindergarten classroom.”

Let's Learn About the Alphabet!
Funded Oct 26, 2021Thank you so much for supporting my project "Let's Learn About the Alphabet." The children were so excited when the new materials arrived and wanted to start using them right away.
We use our soup cans daily to sort pictures by the beginning sound during our small group reading and intervention time. These soup cans have helped bring a routine to our classroom that the students are familiar with and they are able to complete independently.
In the beginning we used our sandpaper letters to practice letter names and sounds. Since many of us have mastered this skill we have started to use the letters to decode CVC words. We also love using our wooden reading blocks to make CVC words.
Again, thank you so much for your support and helping bring fun ways to practice our letters, sounds, and words to our classroom.”

Can we Build it? YES, We Can!
Funded Feb 11, 2021Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. My students were very excited when the boxes arrived. The smiles on their faces when they saw all of the new building materials and the excitement in their voices was unbelievable. I have seen an increase in team work and cooperation since these materials have arrived.
My students have enjoyed all of the materials, but the magna tiles are a favorite. They love building towers and towns and using them with other toys in our room. They also love building cars, airplanes, and houses with Lego. All of the materials are used on a daily basis in our play-based classroom to build creativity, team work, and problem solving skills.
Thank you for making new learning experiences possible! We greatly appreciate your support. These materials will be used with my students for years to come.”

Funded Oct 24, 2020Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the wonderful fine motor tools and toys you provided for our classroom. I wish you could have seen the light in the kids eyes and the smiles under their mask when they opened all of these materials.
Since receiving these materials they have become a staple in our daily math and literacy centers along with our Play to Learn time. During centers the tongs are used to pick up different objects that the students count and place on counting mats or letter mats. These tongs help the children build a stronger pencil grip with the design. The children have loved making food to serve one another with the playdoh and playdoh kit. The blocks are out everyday building 3D shapes and structures. They also love to count them after building something to see how many blocks they have used. Pancake stack helps us with following drawn instructions and gets us up and moving when played as a race. The pancakes even are used during play time to serve breakfast in our house/restaurant area.
Again we are eternally grateful for your support of our classroom and the joy and learning you have brought to us.”

Diversity Matters
Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. We have been in school for about a month now, and have been able to already use lots of the books. We have read I Am Human, Hair Love, and Just Ask during our guidance time. We had great discussions on the differences and similarities between people and how in the end we are all human and wonderful!
We have also enjoyed playing with our new babies, puppets, and Legos. The children have enjoyed using these materials during playtime. It is heart warming to see them caring for the babies. We will be using the puppets in future lessons to help us discuss and learn about different cultures.
Thank you for making new learning experiences possible! We greatly appreciate your support. I will use these books and toys with my students for years to come.”

Funded Aug 13, 2019My students were beyond excited to see these new materials when they arrived in our classroom! Before I could even get them out of the packaging, students were clamoring to get their hands on them!
It is wonderful to see them having collaborative conversations as they build structures and work on mazes. This collaboration carries throughout our day, creating a classroom environment that is supportive and inquisitive.
I can't thank you enough for supporting my students, my classroom vision, and public education. On behalf of my students and myself, we appreciate you!”

Funded Feb 14, 2019Thank you so much for your donation that brought these fabulous books to our classroom! My students were so excited when the boxes arrived and we opened them to see what was inside. They immediately wanted to look at and read each book, so we spent the next 20 minutes trading the books with one another and sharing what we had read and seen in the pictures.
Through these books my students have been able to go on adventures in the ocean learning about beluga, orca, blue whales, and humpback whales. We learned about where these wonderful animals live, eat, and how they survive. We have also gone to Mexico to learn about their culture and celebrations.
We have so many more learning experiences awaiting us through these books thanks to your generosity. We deeply appreciate you and all you have given to us. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Devine (Sutherland)
