  • 3d Printer: Make Stuff and Improve Your Mental Health

    Funded Nov 9, 2024

    With our new 3D printer, we've been able to make more items that ever before. Our old 3D printer is on the fritz, so this new one has come in really handy! We're currently making free-form keychains, but we're following up with Gravity Racers - basic cars that we drop down an inclined track. These usually take up a lot of time and materials, so without this donation it would have taken weeks to print a car for every single one of our students.

    Unlike most people that own 3D printers, our students are actually learning to DESIGN their objects, not just download stuff.”

    Our students are thrilled to have their new shop coats. "We don't have to get our clothes dirty anymore" or "I don't have to bring old clothes to change into". As with all new stuff, they can't wait to try it on and get busy. We are also going to get some patches with the name of our program to put on them!

    Safety and comfort go a long way in a shop environment. By taking care of those needs , we can have students concentrate on the subject matter without worry about anything else. Thanks again for your donation. You've made a bunch of high school engineering students very happy (and safe)!”
