  • Food Pantry Items

    Funded Jan 16, 2020

I would like to give thanks to you for helping me to refuel our food pantry. Many of our students have food insecurities and your donations have helped the school counselor and I be able to let the students have one less thing to temporally worry about. The school counselor and the career outreach facilitator handles the actual distribution of food, but the need has been so great that their are food pantry hours that we take shift on to make sure that their is always someone their if a student shows up in need.

Your donation was used to help feed hungry students. Everyone at the Richmond Technical Center greatly appreciate your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pierce

  • Hands-On Labs

    Funded Dec 18, 2019

Thank you so much for your help. The students are looking forward to the lab activities. There is a big difference between reading something out of a book and actually doing the work. These items will be used in their clinical practice. The students and I really appreciate your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pierce

  • Focused Minds

    Funded Dec 10, 2019

Thanks to all that donated. I am so pleased to announce that this project is fully funded. I appreciate everyone who made a donation. Thank you so much for taking the time and investing in my students. I know that the students will enjoy the items, and they send their thanks.”

  • Healthy Rooms, Students, and Minds

    Funded Mar 19, 2019

I would like to thank each and every one of you who donated to this project. My students enjoyed the snacks and they were a big hit. The most important thing about the items in the snack boxes is that most of the items was healthier versions of popular snacks that they eat. It helped the students to stay focused on their learning but also exposed them to healthy alternatives that they can expose their families to at home. I am proud of all of the work that the students accomplished throughout the semester and I believe a big part of that was due to the fact that they could actually focus on their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pierce

The materials on my list will be used in our lab. These students are preparing for national testing to obtain certification and licensing as Registered Pharmacy Technicians. Most of the students are planning on using their certification to assist in paying for college. These materials will be used for hands on training. The weigh paper, gelatin capsules, and droppers will be used in their compounding practicals. The concepts that the students need to master in order to pass their certification test are mastered when they have hands-on examples of what they are reading about. Videos are great but clinical practice is better and student retention is higher.
